I've been maintaining but think the yard had a fungus or something. So, thought would see what they had to offer rather than me chasing issues.

Take a sample down to your local garden shop, someone will be able to tell you what you need.

They do green up the lawn. I hired them for a once a month job. A month later, it was every 3 weeks. Then a month later it was every two weeks, then it went to every week. Each application cost me $55, and I never agreed to this. The kicker was a month later, they sold the franchise route to another guy, so both were charging me $55 a week. This was when I advised the next time they come on my front lawn, I would be arresting them.

Likely you just need a fertilizer treatment on a quarterly basis, use a selective herbicide (weed killer) if needed, and a basic insecticide if you have any infestations.

Any thoughts on what to use to kill crabgrass that is taking over my fescue? I have used all the off the shelf stuff and it just turns it brown for a short time and back to green within a month or 2.

Do you have alot of it or just a few patches? If its a small area i would remove it manually. If its a larger problem, spray it with a selective herbicide. It may need a few applications to get it to die off completely.

Once they go dormant in the fall time you should put down a pre emergent herbicide so that way they wont come back next year. Crabgrass can be very difficult to manage. Especially in this time, if its seeding already, removing it can make it drop more seeds and the problem will keep reoccurring.

We use urea year 46-0-0 every month for 35 years

Try a more commercial shop like Ewing. They have better products than Depot and the guys are knowledgeable. I buy all my stuff from them. They have a great fertilizer to green up your lawn quick, fescue seed and post emergents.

TruGreen is horrible. Been there done that. Lawns are real easy if you feed them what they need
