how do you do a head on with a divided freeway?
Hauling ass and passing on the shoulder then losing control

Happened a couple weeks ago when a trailer started fishtailing then crossed over into traffic head on on the 40

Happens all the time.
The new electric cars aren’t being stopped by guardrails either. All those batteries down low are adding weight and lowering the center of gravity so they just blow through them. I would imagine the hybrids are packing some serious extra weight as well.

"""People life’s changed forever! Two families lost their kids! And all because of an idiot driver who wanted to cut everyone off putting his families life’s in danger and the innocent family he crashed into on the north side! You killed someone’s child!!!! You killed your own child!!!!! Your baby and wife and the other innocent people will be traumatized forever! All because you wanted to drive through the emergency lane instead of driving on the road like the rest of us ! And of course, like always the one at fault is never hurt! Nothing but a broken leg for him!!!!” Flores added.

Another witness said his wife is distraught after she helped the three-year-old child who had reportedly sustained a severed arm."""

Beyond tragic. Perhaps some will now realize what unnecessary radical driving can produce. Yes, it did cause them to cross the median and into the innocent oncoming vehicle. It happens all too frequently. Why not release the name of the ass hole, driving the Mercedes SUV, who caused all of this? Seriously. Why not? Call them ‘aledged’, if you must. But put a name to them. LEOs know who it was. Perhaps they broke their leg? And a little one lost an arm . . Plus another and little ones died. May the deceased RIP. A very sincere thanks to those who stayed, aided and helped those at the scene, prior to the first responders arriving. Another one the first responders will NOT soon forget.

Reports indicate the southbound Mercedes SUV was using the left side emergency lane to pass others, when they lost control and crossed across the median, into the innocent Easter weekend northbound vehicle. Wonder how many vehicles were passed ??? . . . . . Perhaps the perp was counting? . . . .

The whole thing stinks to high heaven. It's traffic on the 15, there's no way around it, how much time was he going to make up? Now he's killed 3 people - two of them kids, a three year old lost their arm, a woman is paralyzed, and for what? I hope this guy rots in jail and is the regular target of the biggest, nastiest sodomite in the whole prison.

Barstow police arrived on scene to find the Kia hydroplaned, drifted across four lanes of traffic and the center median into the path of a Mercedes SUV being driven in the opposite direction.

The head-on crash has left two passengers dead in the Kia and one dead in the Mercedes.

The following list breaks down the deaths and injuries between occupants of the two vehicles involved in the Saturday afternoon crash.
Deaths
  • 43-year-old woman (Kia)
  • 13-year-old male (Kia)
  • 11-year-old boy (Mercedes)
Major injuries
  • 3-year-old boy (Kia)
  • 7-year-old boy (Kia)
  • 15-year-old boy (Mercedes)
Moderate injuries
  • 19-year-old man (Kia)
  • 52-year-old man (Kia) [Driver]
  • 34-year-old woman (Mercedes)
Minor injury
  • 38-year-old man (Mercedes) [Driver]
Idiot drivers have increased so much in almost every town I have been to in the last few years it amazes me this does not happen even more often. RIP to those little kids that did not deserve any of this, and the innocent people that have had to pay a price for 1 idiotic POS driver.

Thanks for this post. It differs from the initial reports. As does the newer 'vvng.com' report. Cause now appears to be the hydro planning Kia. Believe hydro planning is usually remedied by slowing down. Perhaps it was an unusual circumstance?

Center divider “New Jersey Type barriers” K rail save lives.

We didn’t get them on the 118 until a well known to the community compassionate charity worker’s adult kids were killed by a cross over head-on collision.

Fantastic kids we lost. Could have been prevented.

I was first on scene in a horribly similar "accident". I was West Bound in fast lane, heading home from my lake with my dogs. I was following a black infinity. I saw smoke/dirt/skid ahead and an East bound Chevy Tahoe was crossing the dirt divider. I jammed on my brakes and the Infinity ahead of me went almost head on with the Tahoe. Traffic stopped. I ran to infinity. Single woman, DOA. Obvious. I was stunned/shocked but then went back to tahoe ( which was on freeway and small fire started in front end) I checked driver area and no driver ( WTF?) Another person( a fisherman towing a bass boat) showed up at this time to help. Driver was found in the back hatch area ( no seatbelt). He was really F'd up. There was also a really large Pit Bull back there with him, who was along for the ride. I ran back to my Excursion and grabbed a leash from my dog and went back and we managed to get the dog out and leashed. Gave him to another person who had stopped. The fire had the front end of the tahoe involved at this point, pretty good. Me and the other guy, decided we didnt' have time to wait for 1st responders, due to the fire. We reached into the hatch area and drug the driver though the back window and got him onto the ground. We drug him a safe distance from the tahoe.. Dunno why, but I had noticed the tires of the tahoe. Left front was blown and both back tires were bald as race slicks...

It was at this time that I noticed the injured driver was shoeless and had an ankle monitor on. Beautiful. ( at this point, I was kinda happy that he'd shit himself).

1st responders showed. FD put out the mostly burned tahoe. Me and the fisherman gave our statements and they guided us around the accident scene and we left. ( the rest of the west bound folks were stuck for the duration. ). I watched the news for details and they called it an "accident" due to a "blowout" at 70 mph by the Tahoe. I say it was negligence based on the tires that I saw, and an innocent dead woman.

Shit gave me nightmares, and I still notice the spot of the accident almost every time I drive to the lake plus the annual memorial that the family puts up for the lost daughter.. I wonder if ankle bracelet guy struggles with guilt.. Probably not..

RIP to those involved in the kia/mercedes accident.. I don't really want to know how bald the kia tires were that "hydroplaned".

Sad deal.

In many places in the world if you don't have winter tires in the winter, or have bald tires, or have your lights off, you're automatically at fault in an accident. Not sure how an attorney would approach it here in the states, and it won't bring the victim back. But if this was on the back of people's minds it might act as a deterrent
