Looks to much like a NEXT deck. A lot of options but not my cup of tea. Seems under powered as well.

Still one of my favorite boats. If I had the money it would be in my storage this weekend.

I was interested until I saw that it wasn't a dual jet. :D

Seriously though that thing seems functional as all get out. Hard to beat in that aspect but some of that function is just too assaulting to my eyes.

I agree I'd opt for a little more but a 496/425hp at 70mph is no slouch for that boat.

Any guesses what it would run with a 525?

The guy selling it lives near me (he also has the 21 Daytona that HAD an Arneson drive). I would like to see this Trident in person.

Can a 28ft deck boat really hit 70mph with an 496ho? ....that's a lot of weight! .... I know it says it in the ad but I don't think so

It seats too many people for my taste and that rear entry is great for Fox's, but doesn't really work at RoadRunner.

Nice boat, but definitely function over form in my opinion.

Not sure how much footage is running surface. I'm sure 28' includes the patio...err...swim step.

Back in the day... Froggy proved it would... Well said it would. :D

The guy selling is a dealer. He flipped my old boat.

I would take that over a 80K pontoon.

Yes it will, resin infusion at its finest.
People who assume all deck boats are the same are the reason the Trident project was unsuccessful.

That and the $175,000 MSRP, this boat is a steal at this price, or you can go buy a new cheetah.

Few realize the stock Trident bimini is made of three layers of kevlar which can repel bullets up to .38 caliber.

I would have bought a Trident but I was waiting for the closed bow model.

I still love this boat, too bad it wasn't a total success.

Wes put his heart in that venture and it showed.

Did Froggy run out of speaker grills? I dunno nothing about modern speakers but us old school guys always had grills on them to keep protected...

Who gets all this new fangled new age phooey? Back when I was a kid, we tuned the spark-o-matic to 1 of 2 AM stations and sang hostess jingles when out of range. Kids these days!!!:swear

LOL when my kid was 5 he got in Wes's first Trident and was about to stick his finger through one until I grabbed him.

It is a beautiful boat...and a lot of boat for the $ for sure.
If I was in the market and looking at that price range it would be in my garage tonight.

Lol.. The speakers are hard plastic.. You aren't going to stick any fingers through modern subs (or most components for that matter)

It was sad to see such an ambitious member pour his heart into this project. From what I understand the boat is light for its size and performs extremely well. Albeit a great boat if you know the full history but for me it kind of falls into the Function over looks. It would annoy me to much. But if I had funny money I would buy it anyways......

Don't mock Cheetah boats and people interested in them. Hell at least they are around for warranties.
I believe this is the prime example in which Cheetah Bob likes to build a no frills boat at a lower cost than most competitions. He's still around right. How many big names came and gone and left people screwed on deposits and warranties.

My friend had a 21'open bow cheetah, we pounded that boat so hard for years it was not even funny. Yeah there would be some dry wall screws laying around on the floor once in a while but the boat got the job done for years with no major issues. Personally I would buy a cheetah as think they are great for the price, however if I was gonna drop $70k on a deck boat and it was between a cheetah and a trident I'd be swinging from froggystyles nuts all day long and twice on Sundays. :D There is really no comparison between the two boats other than they are both I the hi performance cattle hauler group.

Was this boat converted from jet to IO ? Is that the reason for the fabricated transom mount ?
