Kinda weird.. I drive down Main Street and I mutter the word “trees”. My buddy says yeah they look good.

I say they have really grown out this year.

What do you see? Why would I be muttering the word trees?

We will see if anyone gets it right

All the shit in the gutters and on the sidewalk from the trees.

Is it because they're finally bloom and green, letting you know it's spring? We seem to have the longest winter this year and most trees are still bare. Screw global warming, we had -1 C last night. Sky is blue though in the desert. Friend sent a picture from Vancouver yesterday, there was a dust of snow on his deck. Never had happen there since 1980 in April.

First, you always confuse me calling McCulloch Main st. LOL Second, when I swung by an invited myself to lunch the other day with you at Red Onion, I parked Taylors freshly washed car under the tree out front and birds shit on it and leaves all over it. I was less than pleased. Fuck them trees!! 👎:D LOL

I love palo verde tress !

But that yellow follower is a allergy / pollination/ drop disaster!

If I had a big lot I’d have some in the yard but would never have them near the driveway or patio.

Palo Verde trees are inappropriate for those locations - limbs fall off routinely causing a danger to people and Vehicles

Palo Verde are native to Arizona, highly drought tolerant and were here before anyone else. They may be messy but I prefer any of the natives over the stuff people import from other states. People generally over water them to get them to grow fast and that's most of the problem. In a setting like that they could have been pruned back to a 1/3 of their size before spring bloom and help tremendously with mess.

With the wind in Carlsbad, my sinuses are already F’d.

On another note, those trees need trimming before the DS street party

Gonna be a PITA next week for the street fair and the boats parked under them!

Bingo..

Tilt boats are as tall as motorhomes. They aren’t gonna fit under the trees which is gonna cause some very irritated boat owners whom are stuck in their assigned spots.

Almost need to put the tilt boats in between the trees etc which adds a whole different dimension

Those trees are going to understandably piss off the owner of any equipment parked under or near them, boats and tow vehicles etc. Forgot to mention T-shirt vendors.

What I’m saying isn’t just dealing with cleaning up flowers and leaves.. I am saying the boats don’t physically fit under them when they are like this. 😳.

For example I can get my motorhome under one but it sounds like it’s ripping through the roof when I accidentally do.. not sure I’d want to do that on purpose, let alone do it to the side of a boat.

I’m sure they will work it out somehow.

Call the city I'm sure you did :)

It isn’t my event so I wouldn’t be the person to call anyone, but I know the city has cut them in the past. I assumed they did it for DS? Maybe it was just a coincidence that it happened in the past right around this time?

The portion of McCullough between Acoma and Smoketree is also referred to as main st.

Yep. they rarely plant the stronger native ones, they plant a variety of Blue or worse the weak fast growing Mexican palo verde.

My neighbor just came of the grocery store with a huge branch across his suburban

Landscapers fuck them up even more by messing up the trim jobs like the ones on McCulloch

How did we manage for the last 20 years? Trees have always been there and they’ve always bloomed this time of year. 😊

This ^^^. Isn’t the blue/Mexican version thornless also and what drives that choice?

Well.. historically the trees didn’t overhang the street that much (they were smaller) and historically they get trimmed this week.

Again I always kind of assumed they got trimmed for desert Storm, but now I’m thinking it may have just been a coincidence that in years past they did that.. I dunno.

What I can tell ya is we are laying out our booth for desert Storm and as I’m driving down the street I look and say to myself.. These trees are gonna be a problem. 😳

Yea, screw that. It’s why I tilt port up. Roadside trees are a nusance.

I just pulled into the Islander. Drove through Wickenburg. I go around the bridge just because.

On the detour around town, Vulture Mine Rd, there’s a Powerline hanging so low I need my wife to get out so I can steer around the sag.

My home, Peoria needs to get their shit straight on trimming all the roadside trees.

It will be interesting to see how it goes this year. I don’t think you guys or skater are displaying on the street are you?

There is a brown sign that says as much when you cross Acoma going south if I remember correctly.

I can bring my slow 20’ open bow jet bote down to display as an alternative. It sits flat on the trailer. Problem solved.

I saw the city doing tree trimming earlier this week down there so maybe they get it done before next week.

I saw them trimming earlier this week as well which is why I kinda assumed it was gonna be done.

Those pics are from this morning. They didn’t trim most of them further down the street?

Maybe they will do it this week (I hope they do anyways)

Guessing its only trimmed because its spring - I doubt anyone put two and two together to think about cutting them for boat clearance?
