Tree help

So at my new Havasu house we have a tree in front that is not doing well? No idea what it is or why it looks like it’s dying. Looked shitty last summer also but had some more green. Was watering it everyday last summer then wife turned the water back a bit and now it look worse. Any idea what kind of tree it is and what the issue may be? It’s our 2nd home so we are only there occasionally

Chinese elm give it plenty of water it dormant in winter

Yep, Chinese Elm. Messy MF'ers in the Fall but provide great shade through the summer.. It'll want plenty of agua. I trimmed it to bare limbs each winter. Roots can be invasive though, lift wall footings and the like.
The one I had was decades old before I finally took it down. Took a decade or more before all the runner roots to finally stop trying to pop up several new trees every Spring.
