Traditional family tamale meet

My wife, her mother and grandmother have always made tamales for Christmas and once again its about to go down. Unlike prior years of starting at 4am she elected to have all the girls over about 10am. She started getting things ready about 5am and got a head start. Should see about 25 dz red (beef) a d 15 dz green (potatoes and diced jalapeños).
Looking forward to the end product.

Nice. My wife and her sister along with the daughters went over their mom’s today and whipped together 100 tamales. Costa Rican and Guatemalan tamales. Had two today for lunch. It’s one of my favorite days of the year.
