Track Day at Laguna Seca tomorrow

Don’t post on here much, but since this is clearly not a boating only site which is why we are all here. Figured I’d share something to do with speed on a real race track. Have a full day at Laguna Seca tomorrow.

Thanks, and yes. Tomorrow is a 105db day. Some days are only 90db. I don’t bother with those. Got to do a unlimited sound day last year since Indy Car gave up there day cause of well, you know. Lol

For those of us that don't speak modern, is that a Powerplant and suspension combo?

There's a retired CHP guy that lives up here with a road race type of Camaro. It's still a street car, but full cage and flat gets with it when he hammers it.

1LE is basically the track set up, and the ZL1 adds the supercharger. Mine is 1LE only, track set up brembos, recaro seats etc without the supercharger. 450 vs 650hp

Care weighs 3,820 dry. The other difference between ZLE and regular 1LE is the suspension which the ZLE sits on DSSV Dampers. All I know is a lot of our 1 ton trucks ride nicer. This thing is a dump truck on pulpit roads.

plus the ZLE can adjust front camber to set negative Camber for the track. Which is huge. I went through a right front tire in the one day i
Didn’t have it adjusted. And
Not to mention the better performance

Great question. I have done other 103db days at the likes of Thunderhill and Sonoma but it’s where the sound tower is located. In Lagunas case it’s on an uphill part between turn 5 & 6 and normally I would want to be flat out in 3rd gear there.

so I think I’ll try it, see if I get poped with a warnig and then probably short shifting to 4th. If that don’t work then we all normally just lift right at the tower.

An old friend of mine that used to do Camaro performer magazine just pick up the exact car as yours after he sold his 69 Camaro.

Interesting, did not know that, so basically your always in track mode. I need to head to chuckwalla soon, only have 850 miles on mine in almost two years You get the 6 or the 10 speed auto? I ordered mine with the manual, just something about shifting gears, even though it’s slower it just feels faster.

Ran a 1:53 at Auto club. Tried the Toyo R888R and did not like them. Now I’m back to the Goodyear’s.
Only been to Laguna once and ran a 1:42. We will see today.
It was cool when I went to Fontana. My good buddies Tony from DCB and Josh from Teague came and watched.

I will do Buttonwillow next year. Loved the Roval but they are tearing the track down making it a short track last I heard.

Cool. What kind of speeds where you seeing on the roval? My fastest was a 1:40.8 and the track is slower this year due to them letting maintenance go on it. I believe I got up to 143 mph on the roval.

Ya I thought the track had slowed down to. And the reason makes sense. I was dirt tracking on the final infield turn before going back up on the big track. I saw 156 mph

I'd run riiiiiiight with you. I run a 1:52 there. I run Maxxis RC1.

Yea it is really hammered over there, and the bumps were pretty bad last time I was there. It was all I could to to keep the thing going straight. I have touched 160 on the front straight on a fast lap, usually in that 156-158 MPH range as well. I am sure I could run in the high 1:40s with aero on the car. I'm losing time on Nascar 1 and 2 because I can only go so fast before I'm scared I might die, and having no ABS kills me.

I believe those are actually more like 125k. I have a buddy pretty high up at HMS. And that’s what he told me.
