My son-in-law wanted to take some of the flex out of the ramp door so I made these braces to help support the middle. We call em dolphin strikers in the sailbote world, kinda like the support rod on your old wooden garage door. Half inch stainless round bar and the fastener plates are quarter inch. We couldn’t bolt into the lower part of the aluminum frame extrusion because of clearance issues on the inside. The thinner plates helped tie that together a little bit.

Nope! The sailbote crowd wouldn’t even know what they were looking at.
So new business venture it is.……However, I would think that the RV people would not be willing to spend the $$$$

If there wasn’t one 4 feet away already it would’ve been considered.👍

I'm going to do that to mine, what a great idea. I've got the same door, 6 months in, the bolts that fasten the hinge to the vertical came loose. with the tension of the door aid, it got pretty exciting when the door was lowered. check them, I tacked them so they cant come loose.

Can you tell me where these bolts are located? He does have a clunk when the door gets close to horizontal on the way down, I wonder if that’s the same problem. We will have to check it out. Thanks!
