Hope it delivers. The first was such an iconic movie.

I agree, if we waited this long they better not let us down. I know after the first one Navy recruitment went through the roof.

The F-18 is featured prominently in the movie, and it's a public-relations black-eye for the F-35 program.

Scientology and cruise are ass clowns.

Im not paying to see it

If I refused to see a movie based on the offset opinions of actors, I'd never be able to watch TV or go to the movies!! Tom Cruise is a strange mo-fo but in the big picture, he doesn't hurt anyone. He's got his religious (uh-hum, cult) beliefs but who doesn't? He's smart enough to stay away from spouting his opinions about and really all the scientology stuff has been digging from the media. Meh, whatever.

Shortened for relevance. I think that question is better answered by his children.

I think they finally tore down the one old dive bar in Vista they did some filming at, it was right in front of the Boomers mini-golf.
The house in Oceanside by the pier still stands.

I wonder if the bike they use in the sequel will be the Kawasaki Ninja H2. They used a Kawasaki Ninja GPZ 900 in the original movie. How bikes have evolved in 30 years. I had this bike.

I haven’t liked a Tom Cruise movie since he got his teeth fixed, specially the Reacher movies because Jack Reacher is 6’3” 258#, Jack Reacher is 6’3” 263# (for the readers) and Tom Cruise is what 5’6” 145# but I’ll have to watch this, and hope the real “Cole Trickle” and “Rowdy” come back next!

Cool, glad it's coming back. I enjoyed that movie a bit more than many, since I was working at NAS Miramar when they did the filming there, very cool indeed. !!
Then a couple of years later while sitting in a bar at Hana Ranch (Maui), mesmerized by some ole Hawaiian guy working his magic on a ukulele, I found myself sitting next to an equally impressed, Val Kilmer. Very nice as was his wife at the time Joanne Whalley.
It was funny because in those days (Early 90's) Hana Ranch was get away for many rich and famous. Since my wife and I don't keep up, we found ourselves sitting around the pool playing between us playing a guessing game of "Who's that" ?
My wife started laughing suggesting maybe us virtual nobodies were staying in the wrong place, I told here "No worries, they're all sitting there trying to figure out who the hell we are too" LOL  :D

I watch what I want as well, even though I know the actors are jackwagons.
I do have to strongly disagree with your statement about Cruise not preaching his opinions or hurting anyone. His years in Scientology have been a never ending pony show and he has attacked detractors publicly and even worse provides a big chunk of funding for Scientology’s never ending crusade against exiters and their families.
His exes are bound from talking about it, and they likely wouldn’t even if they could. The shit that Cruise has brought on to people who dissent is a long list. He’s had a big hand in ruining a lot of lives.

Still, I’d watch a “days of thunder” remake!

Charlies house is still there but no telling for how long. It's in pretty rough shape.

I don't think Val Kilmer will be in the movie. His voice box was ruined by throat cancer and he can barely talk now.

I won't watch it if the hot shot student is a female lead....... I'm also not a fan of CGI, the original used real airplanes for most of the scenes.

I think Val Kilmer transformed Iceman into Donutman. Last time I seen him 8 years ago in Malibu he was pushing 300+ lbs. hopefully he’s gotten his health back under control since then.

Yea, I suppose you’re right. And the statement above that he’s basically calmly abandoned his children. Not exactly a respectable stand up guy. I don’t think anyone would disagree with that. I guess my point was I don’t care enough about him or his shinanigans to give two shits. Lol. I think it’s kinda pathetic that he’s obviously aging and obviously having difficulties accepting that. tine to transition from action roles to the dad roles there tommy

Strong work, but maybe Icingman might play, Donutman is equally as funny as the bluntness hammers the point home :)

I was kind of hoping that when Cruise messed up his marriage Nicole Kidman would be so heartbroken and emotionally unstable that she would go out with me. The judge who issued the restraining order didn't agree. Oh well, there's always Naomi Watts...

Sounds like he is doing okay and has a nice family. Kind of sounds like Marlin Brando now! Oh, and Doc Holiday/Tombstone by far!
