Today started like any other, get up, shower, get ready for office, etc.
Before I headed down to my office I grabbed my earbud off the nightstand and also grabbed the daily vitamins I take, about 6, and the two meds I take each day. I tossed those in my pocket and my earbud was in my pocket as well. On the way downstairs to my office I stopped in the kitchen and grabbed a water to take my meds and vitamins.
I sat down at my desk and started going about my work stuff, reached in my pocket and grabbed about half of the vitamins and meds and swallowed them with some water. I was checking my emails and never even looked at what was in my hand. Once done I grabbed the second handful and swallowed those. It was kind of weird, that second handful went down kind of hard, no biggie, didn’t think anything of it and started my day.
Phone rings and I can’t find my ear bud. Check the case, not in there, look around my office, nope, ask the housekeeper who is there cleaning the house if she has seen it, nope.
Then it hit me, holy shit, did I swallow it? I open the case and place it near my belly and look at my iPhone under Bluetooth and it says “connected”.
We headed to the ER and we found the missing earbud. All of the doctors and nurses and X-ray techs were cracking up looking at the X-ray.
Doctor said it was past my stomach and in my lower intestine heading south, just look for it and if I don’t see it over the weekend come back Monday for another X-ray. He wasn’t worried about the lithium battery since it’s cased in plastic and it had already passed my stomach and stomach acid with no effect on me.
Big question is will it still work when it shows up again? I’ll keep you posted.
