I can’t wait to see this. A double feature at the theater would have been awesome.

It was corny one of a kind. Still a great that mixed flat land and BMX. The hell track was hilarious. The gym dance scene was even funnier looking back. Send me an angel lol
Agreed, the freestyle was badass

Growing up in Escondido, San Diego north county.

Every Saturday after breakfast
&
Mowing the lawn we would ride all over town looking for dirt lot tracks, hitting up the bike shops and McDonalds or Carls JR or Del Taco….

Those were the days ! We were free out on our own

North county bikes
&
Hidden Valley Bikes

Even stopped into Hal’s Bike Shop in Clairmont a few times

I had CW handle bars to carry my bags up high….

They had the bar straight across - new and cutting edge at the time

Mine had DK neck, CW bars, ukai rims...

AME grips, crank was exactly this but completely polished, I don't think the pedals were fusions but looked exactly like these, these exact rims, same color and Pitbull brakes. The frame was also completely polished.

I wanted Bear Trap pedals until I saw what they did to my buddies shin, that want was done😳

Oh that’s funny!

I bought a Red Line stem from a buddy - it was red and I used easy Bake oven cleaner to bake it back to natural then polished it w/ some aluminum polish paste ( white tube w/ red lettering it was like a tooth paste tube )

I had black ACS Z rims, SS Spokes & Red Shamino DX hubs

1 piece cranks w/ a black PPP sprocket ( Peet’s Precision Power )

Red Dia Comp MX 1000 on the rear and a black one on the frt

Snake Belly tires

And
I had the same type of pedals but mine were black - they weren’t fusion… kinda forget what brand they were ….

Bear Traps were Knarley and would MESS you up …

That’s fuckin awesome. Can’t wait to see this documentary.

Loved riding in the 80’s and 90’s. So much so that I went on to collect and build pretty much every bike I wanted as a kid. lol. (CW, Shogun, Kuwahara, multiple Pattersons and Hutches, Profile, multiple PK’s, floval, quad angle, redline, etc) I still remember walking into the local bmx shop at seeing the GT Santa Ana mini hanging on the wall. I saved up $250 and my mom paid the other $250. Loved that bike.

Watched Rad a million times. lol

I think my brothers and I rented that movie so many times we wore out the VHS tape. It's be awesome to see it in theaters.

I was poor country kid who didn't have much more than a chrome Kmart blue light special, but man my friends and I rode out bikes all over the place looking for dirt tracks and lots to ride on. There were a couple of old gravel pits that were "open", dropping down into them was pretty wild. LOL.

We took the kids last year on RAD Day to see it in the theater. Was so much fun to see it again and be reminded of our younger years. We watch it on the TV every now and then too.

Seeing all of your vintage BMX parts on here brings back memories. Crazy how expensive bikes are these days. My 8 year olds class bike costs close to $4K to build new. Carbon, titanium, etc. Little thing weighs in at just 10 lbs.

You made me go look. From the factory they are 30.1lbs. Would be hard to knock the weight in half.
They were 22lbs from the factory

I can't attach a screenshot or pictures for some reason but it's a screenshot of an old spec sheet from an article, maybe not 14 or 15 but possibly 17

I was looking at SE Bikes. The ones that manufactured the PK

It’s crazy what these bikes cost to build. Thank god we have amazing sponsors that build them for us!

I thought so to but I saw one on ebay that was steel with surface rust, not sure if it's a rare or really early PK or a fake but....

Was it chrome? My buddy had a chrome one and it would get surface rust on the chrome. I had a blue one and a black one.
