On paper these seem to fit our needs ( lower ht for storage in 13' roll up door ht , diesel should be ok for small toad or 20' box trailer, not too long for most parks etc , stackable w/d ready, full size residential fridge, we don't want bunkhouse type plan... empty nest ). Looks to be lots of them for sale between 80 - 180K depending on the year. Any pros or cons/ experience on these, or other similar better options to be looking at ?

I had a 2022 33BR Breeze for 2 years, had to sell because of illness. I know everything there is to know about this platform. You want the Cummings 6.7, not the earlier versions, but the quality of these went down hill with the rest of the market in 2021. Hitch is rated at 5m #'s. If you go above, you'll be voiding your ins. Bought for around 3, sold for 190 with 15m miles, and all the bugs worked out. Values are even lower now. I know mines gone, but LaMesa in Phoenix had 3. Check there. Its 12'5" tall and 33'10" end to end with the ladder. I got 13 mpg towing a car!!! Its an independent front end which is huge, and has no hydraulic leveling pads, does it all with the bags just like a prevost. Front 2 slides are completely different than the back slide, so you need to know everything about both types. We miss it, and had great times, but it does have some weaknesses. If you get one, I'd have an independent inspection ( something I learned too late). Worth every penny. Mine had same size tires front and rear, but 8 lugs front, 10 lugs back, so carrying a spare was a no go. It also has 19.5" tires, so not common in a weekend emergency. Fits anywhere, and is lowest diesel pusher on the market ( my garage door is 12'6", so I couldn't go bigger). Hope I helped. Any questions, just ask

Buy out of state. Some state have non resident RV registration
Yes.... But be aware California requires out-of-state diesel RVs to register with CARB as well..... if traveling to Cali.. No emissions testing for out-of-state... is this part of "Trump Proving Cali". lol

Thank you for the insights , and definitely agree on the inspection. Our time frame would probably be 10-12 months out realistically. I wonder if it'd make sense to have an 8 lug spare for the front only ?

We should be able to legit claim 190 days a year in Az in a year and I can go back to residency/ DL there, but doesn't Az have crazy high registration on rv's, or is it just a one time sales tax ? I actually don't think we'd be using it in Cali much if any.

Inaccurate. Out of state registered RV’s are exempt from CARB testing.

Yes. RV registration in AZ is crazy expensive. Sales tax varies by city

yes. that's what I said

you said the opposite. Out of state RV’s do not have to register with CARB

A. California Registered Vehicles​

Compliance deadlines for California registered vehicles are based on their DMV registration expiration dates.

California Motor homes (including recreational and emergency use motor homes), and vehicles that meet the requirements to be classified as agricultural vehicles, are subject to annual compliance deadlines only.


B. Non-California Registered Vehicles and DMV Exempt Plated Vehicles​

Non-California registered vehicles include vehicles registered in other states and countries, as well as federal vehicles not registered in any DMV jurisdiction. DMV exempt plated vehicles include California local and state government vehicles exempt from DMV re-registration requirements.

These vehicles’ emissions compliance testing compliance deadline is based on the last number of the vehicle’s vehicle identification number (VIN). To identify when your non-California registered/exempt plated vehicles refer to Table II below. Compliance Deadlines may be found in the vehicle’s CTC-VIS account.

What is Clean Truck Check?​

It is a regulation to test heavy-duty vehicles’ emissions control systems for proper operation. Clean Truck Check applies to nearly all diesel and alternative fuel heavy-duty vehicles with a gross vehicle weight rating (GVWR) over 14,000 pounds that operate on California public roads. This includes both in-state and out-of-state vehicles, as well as public vehicles (federal, state, and local government); motorcoaches; transit, shuttle and school buses; hybrid vehicles; commercial vehicles; personal vehicles; California registered motorhomes; single vehicle fleets; and vehicles registered outside of California (not including motorhomes).

Which vehicles are not subject to the regulation?​

The heavy-duty vehicle types shown below are not subject to the regulation:

  • Zero-emission vehicles
  • Military tactical vehicles (title 13, CCR, section 1905)
  • Emergency vehicles (California Vehicle Code section 165 or California Health and Safety Code section 1797.84)
  • Historical vehicles (authorized by California Vehicle Code section 5004)
  • New vehicles with engines certified to the most stringent optional, NOx standard (less than or equal to 0.01 g/bhp-hr) -Only during the first four years of Clean Truck Check implementation (2023-2027)
  • Motorhomes registered outside of California
  • Vehicles operating under an experimental permit (authorized by California Health and Safety Code section 43014)
