Site 6 installation for planes. Was told it was for military planes and flying mail. Don't know if it's true

Maybe that is it...the runway looks so big it just never seemed to consume that much of the island viewing from the ground

The launch ramp and retaining wall at site 6 is visible slightly below the circular mobile home park, now the Beachcomber.
Farther east, you can see where the Havasu Marina and the Nautical resort will be.
