Thrifty’s Ice Cream…..

I think Baskin-Robbins was at $3.99 a scoop a few years back. We quit going as the ice cream recipe has changed, and not for the better. We have a nitrogen place in town that makes amazing salted caramel, strawberry, and a few others that usually get my money now.
Ben & Jerry's from the store is still better than most ice cream shops in my family's opinion.

Fuck those liberal anti-police, antisemitic assholes Ben & Jerry, they will never get a dime of my money. It’s wealthy assholes like these who think the rules apply to everyone except them that are fucking up this county.

Was at Topock this weekend with friends. They were surprised that they had Thrifty’s Ice Cream. Well after 10 minuted of conversation of .15, .25 & .35 for singles, doubles and triples. All which I was not able to experience living in Hawaii. We were told that there was a store in Havasu selling the Thrifty‘s brand. Well last night after dinner the wife made us go. The wife was excited but let me tell you it is no longer .15, .25 & .35. LOL. It was really enjoyable for the wife to relive her youth. If you don’t know it is at the corner near the candy store in the Harbor Freight shopping center.

Chocolate Malted Crunch for the win. We stop there after every boating day and get soft serve when available. Which is about 1/5 visits.

Thriftys in Temple City. Can't count how many times we stopped by there when I was a kid. The best ice cream.

.05, .10, .15 here in Carlsbad when they built our Thrifty’s in the early 70’s.
Used to ride bikes there after Saturday morning pickup baseball games at Valley Jr. High.
Malted Crunch always my favorite.
If ya get a cone try the Animal Cookie flavor…I could down a bag of those pink and white cookies in no time flat.
Perhaps my favorite store bought cookie of all time…Oreos a close second.

yup, use to get $0.50 from mom, $0.05 for a mocha almond fudge, $0.35 in gas at the Texaco and I was gone riding or at the beach all day with a pit stop on the way back for a double scoop cheapest peace and quiet my Mom ever got LOL

The guy there that owned that one recently sold the business I think. We get ice cream there often and the owner was always there in the mornings. We always got ice there on the way to go boating and we would talk 4Runners, he had an FJ Cruiser.

I take my politics more seriously than most folks. My wife left a career of 25 yrs over the politics of Covid.
Ben & Jerry are/were (1 of 'em died right?) old, liberal hippies trying to stay relevant. But they started a company, and made capitalism work big time. And they make some of the worlds best ice cream. Nothing more American than that. Nothing made in China. Nobody ever returns a purchase because it wasn't up to expectations.
I have my standards but $4.99 worth of politics is going to keep me from Oat of this Whirled. Simply the best ice cream flavor of all time.

Oh, unless you're some heavyweight eater, don't order a pastrami first, then decide on a malt...it hurt, but I finished it
