Was at Topock this weekend with friends. They were surprised that they had Thrifty’s Ice Cream. Well after 10 minuted of conversation of .15, .25 & .35 for singles, doubles and triples. All which I was not able to experience living in Hawaii. We were told that there was a store in Havasu selling the Thrifty‘s brand. Well last night after dinner the wife made us go. The wife was excited but let me tell you it is no longer .15, .25 & .35. LOL. It was really enjoyable for the wife to relive her youth. If you don’t know it is at the corner near the candy store in the Harbor Freight shopping center. 👍

I think it was .25/.35 when I was a kid, some rite aid stores still have thrifty ice cream counters 👌🏻

Best classic ice cream, just something about it.

I have to say that I grew up with BR31F and it is a little creamier than Thrifty’s. Please don’t tell the wife as I do not want to be punished for my thoughts for the next 30 years. 👍

That one is the better location in Havasu for sure.
The one next to Smiths doesn't seem to deliver to expectations. Not sure if they cheat the product or if it's the atmosphere they exude.🤷‍♂️
It is also sold at the ice and water place next to Smiths.

.05, .10, .15 here in Carlsbad when they built our Thrifty’s in the early 70’s.
Used to ride bikes there after Saturday morning pickup baseball games at Valley Jr. High.
Malted Crunch always my favorite.
If ya get a cone try the Animal Cookie flavor…I could down a bag of those pink and white cookies in no time flat.
Perhaps my favorite store bought cookie of all time…Oreos a close second.

we have a couple still in Riverside... stopped in yesterday after my daughter won her soccer tournament. A little under $5 for a waffle cone triple scoop. Pecan praline..... sooo good.

They have it at our local Rite-Aid. Usually two of those shrunken (not a half gallon any more) cartons at 2 for $7.00

You didn’t know that? Where have you been? The entrance is right before you go under the railroad overpass. :looking:
Google doesn't know it either. You sure you don't mean Lake Havasu?

They sell that scooper thing too. My Rite Aid has em...been meaning to get one. 😝
I used to work at Farrell‘s Waikiki in high school. We had regular scoop so I was proficient with them. I laugh anytime that someone complains becuase I did it for two years. But I do have to say that the scoops that they use makes it look much easier.

Great ice cream but the price just keeps etching its way over the top...

I didn't see anyone mention that there is another thrifty ice cream store right next to Smiths.

Our local Rite Aid has the ice cream counter but do not know if it’s Thrifty brand?
It was before the store moved across the street to the new location.

It was still cheap in the old location, used to be people on horseback going there all the time.

Hory Phook, $5.25 for a triple scoop?! You can get a half gallon, er, a 3 pint container of ice cream for that much!

The popular new go-to in Carlsbad is Handel's on State St.
Plenty of tasty selections. Hate the lines.

I think Baskin-Robbins was at $3.99 a scoop a few years back. We quit going as the ice cream recipe has changed, and not for the better. We have a nitrogen place in town that makes amazing salted caramel, strawberry, and a few others that usually get my money now.
Ben & Jerry's from the store is still better than most ice cream shops in my family's opinion.
