Hey now, don't go putting down the Waltons. :(

I remember the episode when John put a fresh load of lumber in the kiln. He told the town's folk it was the best load of lumber he ever cut, and that he would never sell it. Later that same episode, the lumber was for sale and he was cutting another load. Oh boy, I laughed and laughed.

This will be the best pot of drama I've ever cooked up. I can't see myself ever selling it or starting more drama in the future. :thumbsup

It's been really windy, lately. I've gone to the lake a few times but my Glastron doesn't do well in 3' chop. I'd love to find a boat that will provide the triple digit performance I need and also do a decent job handling the chop.

Priceless.Thousands of views to his threads that are about Boats and Toys and the Core group of this place runs him off, incredible, especially considering his topics are what this place is supposed to be about.Yes,he is a friend of mine.

Priceless....He uses this place as his personal spam site, and I have not seen anyone run him off. But the for sale threads will be in the spam section from now on, just like everyone elses..

Where the triple digits and chop handling lack the Glastron packs a heavy punch in the resale department.

Do you have a question about one?

I have a question. You recommended I consider changing to low compression pistons and adding twin turbos to the high displacement engine in the 79, 21' Connolly you have for sale. What kind of fuel economy can I expect from that setup? Isn't it going to burn more fuel with the turbos since it can generate so much more horsepower? I think I'd be better off with N/A.

You are a man of means Tom, that most of us envy......and at the end of the day, we spend so little time on the water, that fuel economy, and price per litre.....should be irrelevent.

Oh yeah, I've got nothing but money. lol! :D

I really don't want another project right now. I don't see how I can take the Connolly.

All right Pennywise....I'll swap pistons and do a single turbo install and it will cost you about $46K complete.:thumbsup

yep... the guy that built/ sold me my 468 motor, put a brodix rec port
manifold on oval port heads...I've never seen that work good,
and don't like the idea..

so.. I pulled it off and put an air gap manifold that was made for the
motor..

the manifold is for a dominator 1050..I put an 850..

I think the air gap will make more power????

I dont think the 850 would be an issue....was it a blower motor at anytime?
cant explain the mismatch except in a boost application I dont think it would matter, but there a far more qualified people than me that come to this site....Perhaps ask it in a tech section?

Why would you go with an 850 carb when you could put a 1050 on and get 20% more power?

I think the rips lend a certain amount of character to the boat, but if it will seal the deal..they will be fixed...:grumble:

Tom, I think you are getting confused with the whole Carb size vs Thru Hull exhaust debate of 06...:point

they put a spacer to go from a 4150 carb to a 4500 manifold..

it had the 850 on it..

the zz502 had the 1050 with a spacer to a 4150 manifold.. took it off
and put a 850 on that motor also..

now I have this sitting on the shelf...

i would think you'd have to have a 540 ci or so to make it work ???

Basic carb formula

CID X max rpm X volumetric efficiency divided by 3456

and i said basic,a little bigger for engines running wot alot or where max power is desired,a little smaller for when milage is wanted..hope this helps.

Good night John boy

Will this work on my stock 350? I'm looking to make around 600 hp on pump gas. :p

Do not go N/A. Up on the top 1/4 of the globe where you live the atmospheric pressure is so much less you will need the turbos to keep your HP numbers up.

A couple weeks ago we were all wraped up in a heated debate over on the Diesel Forum about how this guy loses all his power in the mountains. This is back in the Smokey Mountains where you can get to what, 4500 feel...LOL.

We all tried...Dude you have a Turbo and the waste gate opens at what 28-32 psi and it does not know if its at sea level or 5000 feet. A great setup for mountain driving. Little to NO power loss.

Then he starts this I am nowhere near the sea so I not running sea level to begin with....at that point we called in the short bus and gave up.

How he bought a $35k truck is beyond me.
