Cop should have taken them out beyond drone range and knocked some sense into them. Especially the dingaling that didn't secure the vest.

We were coming back from 3 dunes last year around Oct, so lake wasn't crazy. As we pass Riviera I see a Seadoo upside down and two people holding onto it. We slow down and ask if everything is ok. A guy and a girl, rented this seadoo and have ZERO clue what they're doing. The girl is doing most of the talking and says, they flipped it and dont know how to get it rolled back over. I try to explain how to do it but it's like a no go. On top of that she tells me her friend can't swim. he's like 300lbs and wearing a shmedium vest, is out of breath and not doing good. I jump in, get him to the swim step of the boat and then attempt to flip the ski over buy by then, it's got water in it. I do get it over but it aint starting. I load them onto the cig and attach a line to the ski. So, I say he, where did you rent it from we'll call them to come get you. They're like, "we don't know". So, buddy (who lives in havasu) starts calling around while we start towing it into the bay, finds the place he thinks it is and they're like, "no, we don't have anyone out right now" lol Turns out, yeah, they do. as we get closer we can see this ski is obviously theirs. As we get even closer they finally are like, Oh yeah, that's our ski. Yeah, no shit. LOL they say, hey can you bring it in and beach it here. LOL I'm like, No, no I can't beach my boat on the rocky shore. So dude comes out, grabs them and grabs the ski. Long story short, people are out renting these things ALL DAY that don't have business being on them.

Idiots rent a ski, almost die...but still got a ride in a Cig!

I'm living wrong! Own my own old skiis, whole family can swim pretty well, and all understand how to keep a vest on...I taught my kids poorly it seems 🤣

Had something similar happen 2 years ago, we were in my buddies big power 33 Daytona. It was a couple from Canada, and they refused help. We were all paramedics and nurses on the boat and wouldn't take no for an answer. We loaded them on the boat and the husband started to deteriorate quick, he has having conservative syncopal episodes. We threw an anchor line on the ski and told the rental company where is was.

Wife reached out to me a few months later and it turns out he was having a pulmonary embolism.

Odd they don't use trained lifeguards on PWCs with a rescue sled to provide those types of pickups in that situation. They can get one or two on a sled, make a quick round trip and come back for more. If not, at least low-profile inflatables, much of that circle jerk was due to boats ill-equipped for that kind of rescue scenario that involves picking up swimmers from the water.

We had almost the same scenario last summer by grass island but with a baby in waterwings and rough water added to the scene. We literally had to drag the dad up onto the boat cuz he was 🤏 close to drowning.

I thought Bullhead was the Mecca for idiot PWC operations. But, Haulover certainly adds a whole new dimension.
