I am looking at a 24 cheetah with 383 merc. Can anyone chime in and give some advice on the hull with this motor package. I am not too familiar with the hull but I do know the are a modified v hull that rides similar to a cat. Any advice on these boats would be helpful good or bad.
Thanks in advance

Cheetah's are on the lower end of the spectrum in terms of build quality. That being said their resale is bitchen, because generally you don't pay much up front, but they are worth not much less used! The 383 Merc is a cool little motor, and would power that boat (just guessing) into the low 70's.

Personally unless it was a screaming deal, I'd try to find something else.

i've had 7 great years of care free 55-60 MPH cruising with my 2000 24' Cheetah with the 454 MPI.
Do I want to go faster, hell fucking yea, but she's paid for and turn key.
I've been in a few 100 MPH boats but most break shit eventually.

Yes get one with the bigger motor, that boat needs it.

As far as the engine goes, that is a great "Small-block" engine built by MerCruiser. No problems there.

The build quality of the boat you mentioned is not quite at the same level of some of the other SoCal boat builders. As the old saying goes....."You get what you pay for."

Please do your research and make sure you are getting something that fits your needs and your not buying something just because you think it is a "Good deal."

Good luck!
