Scored a big goat in the foothills below Mt Baldy, back in the day. Johnson's pasture. My Dad hunted all over the foothills above Claremont back, in the day when Hunting was still a way of life in SoCal.

SoCal had some great hunting and fishing areas. I used to fish the creek that flowed along the ortega highway for trout. Duck hunted the San Jacinto River where it flowed into Canyon Lake. The Ortega mountains used to be full of quail. I could reminisce about all the places I hunted as a kid in Temecula before it blew up. The Santa Magarita River, where it flows out of Temecula, was really good for hunting and fishing.

My pops and uncles varmit hunted all over local areas, Palmdale, jawbone etc etc, they use to come home with 20 coyotes and bob cats hanging off side of there land cruiser about every weekend. Even brought home a fox one time which ate the seat off my ole mans BSA and a little bob cat that a friend built a big cage for. One of the best ass whippings i ever got was when my dad brought home a desert tortoise and i keep hitting it with a hammer because he wouldn't stick his head out, it was 55 years ago and i was 5 but some ass whippings you never forget lol.
