I don't know much about trains but I wonder, are trains more energy efficient than airliners? I do know that they have diesel engines which powers big generators that in turn power electric motors attached to the wheels. Some ships are powered like that too.

If you could get a train with a similar load capacity (people and cargo) to safely travel at 400 to 500 MPH would it actually burn less fuel than a plane? I'll bet this dumb ass woman has not done any research into it and just thinks trains are "cleaner".

She is the epitome of the entitlement mentality. Seldom right but always certain, she (at 29 years of life experience, growing up in an affluent area then working as a bartender) has all the answers to everything but no actual idea on how to implement them. That's someone else's responsibility, "Hey, I'm coming up with all the solutions and it's up to you to figure out how to do it. Do I have to do everything?"! She reminds me of new hires fresh out of school, that on their first day of employment want to start telling everyone how to run the company.

I bet she actually thinks she is smarter than Trump. Hell, I'm sure she thinks she is smarter than everybody.

To even begin to think of the maintenance required to maintain tracks for high speed trains makes it ridiculous economically. Second, compare trains with the safety record of aircraft per miles traveled and it again is ridiculous safety wise. High speed trains in the numbers to replace air travel will most likely have far more incidents. Jus make no sense any way one chooses to look at it.

Exactly! How does she think trains move? Are these "bullet" trains going to be run on electricity? If so where will all this come from? She wants to do away with natural gas which is the main source of fuel for power plants to produce electricity. This was so not well thought out that I think ole Nancy said go ahead and release it so AOC can look the fool that she is.

We had a green turd mayor in Vancouver [ finally, he's out now ] Greg Robertson for too long, who had the same agenda, getting rid of natural gas for heating homes. She wants no more combustion engines, that means no more diesel/electric locomotives. All the electric energy would have to come from renewable resources to motivate the trains. And she isn't thinking trains, she's thinking about the high speed tubes of death that everyone's favorite whacky financier Elon Musk is promoting. But she isn't articulate enough to put that in her manifesto.

I guess that means that Boeing, GE and United Technologies are moving to Canada. To fly to Europe, I also suppose that means a train (or tube) ride to Canada, or Mexico, first.

Overnight package delivery? Nope, unless you live along one of these linear transportation lines.

Live in a rural area and have a heart attack? Welp, yourgonnadie, no more Life Flights to an urban area with cardiac wards. Maybe one of Jeff Bezos drones will come snatch you up and shuttle you along to the nearest hospitol.

No more oil also means no more synthetic fabrics, or modern paint, or anyway to pave your roads. So enjoy that one pair of cotton pants you are allowed, but don't get them muddy walking to the local gov't office to pick up your federal credits.

And the gov't owned banking system (oh, I forgot to mention that part, the NGD is cornerstoned on the gov't owning all the banks), can simply extend more credit for the projects.

Everyone keeps asking how she got elected... it is my understanding that the long serving democrat in that district didn't put up enough "resistance" to Trump's agenda, pissing off a core group of far left constituants. They ran Occasional-Cortex as a protest candidate in the primary and she won. A Republican hasn't carried that district in forever, so whoever won the D-primary had the seat. She is pretty much free to spout off whatever she wants because her seat is secure for the foreseable future.

So, ya know, it's all Trump's fault. :D
