On Sat I went to Islander Marine to check out this Mini 10'r. This is the Mini that was for sale on the craigs list in Fresno last year. Thank you to Vegas Dave for the offer to buy this mini.

This mini is in desperate need of work. The floor in the boat needs to be ripped out and the bottom is all fucked up. I am going to try my hand at doing all the fiberglass work on my own. Otherwise it will be going back to Islander for some help.

1st off I am not looking at having this thing in perfect shape. I just want it to float and be solid. I will cut n buff the hull and flow coat the floors. Probably add a few red stripes to match my 20'.

As far as power goes, I am going to find a solid wave runner and take the jet and motor out and install it in the 10'. I wish I could make it a mini v-drive, but I don't think the shaft angles will work.

This project will not get started till the end of the year. I need to finish up my 20' and spend my weekends at the river :D

I'm still kicking myself for not buying Riverbounds. It would have matched my 22 nicely.

Welcome to the club! :D

My mom out of all people, is the happiest about this boat. She told me to stop working on the 20' and finish the mini so she can drive it around the strip this summer :D In her words, "That is the cutest boat I have ever seen"

Congrats. Nothing like a mini. Can't wait for my son to be old to enjoy our 10'r. Look forward to seeing the progress.

Try and cutout the whole jet hull around the pump on the WR. You can graft this onto the mini and have the whole pump mount etc all done. We did this about 20 years ago or so and bought motors and pumps from Yamaha to build a ten foot yacht tender. It actually worked fairly well (even better with the Klemm sleeper motor in the demo, LOL).;)

Waverunner III's have reverse...

Ya weather is always hit or miss this weekend, hopefully it will be scattered. We'll be on the water and in the desert either way.

Congrats on your new 10'er Andrew!! I can't recommend Islander enough after the glass / gel work they did on mine. :)

We've researched the trailer thing quite a bit as well, if you want the blingy trailer. I have prices from just about everyone, and what they entail.

Well since my 20' is just about wrapped up. Its time to start this project. Last night, I bought a 1200cc Yamaha Waverunner of LomitaBob for a good deal. The motor needs to be completely rebuilt as it has just been sitting in pieces. As soon as my brother and I got it back to the shop, we started ripping her apart

I plan on transplanting a section of the waverunner bottom to the mini.

I'm going to take it to Rick and have him morph the bottom of the ski to the mini. He thinks it will work out bitchen :thumbsup

Why morph the bottom? Can't you just take the intake and make it fit and do a kind of setback deal?

The bottom of the mini is jacked up anyways and needs a bunch of glass work. Its easier to just morph the bottom of the ski in with the mini. That way everything will fit just right (I think :headscratch:) :D

Well.... After seeing the mini's over and over again in Parker, I am thinking about just having Islander finish the glass/gel work so I can throw a O/B on it. At this point, I have too many projects going on and just want a running mini to go cruise around the strip in :(

I visited Islander on Saturday. I wish I had realized the bottom had been redone. I would have taken shots of the bottom instead of just the transom and side.
They were sanding on the top so I was kind of in his way while taking these. Sorry for the potato quality.

Andrew, I'd hang the motor first and see how it all runs.. then I'd take it apart later and repaint it if you want to go all "Schiada" on it. ;)

Good call on that one. I was thinking about just painting the top cover solid blue and leaving the other blue alone. Then have a Red boat with a white deck and a blue motor. Year round 4th of July piece right there :D

Well..... Ordered the new CNC tilt bracket.

This past weekend, cut out all the steel for the bow stand and side guides. Then welded her on up. Taking the trailer thurs or fri to get sand blasted and then painted on sat. Trailer will be the same color as my 20'r trailer.

Also a shot of the foam wall me and a few buddies have been slowly chipping out

He must have a trick up his sleeve. ;)

Maybe bolt-on bunk supports so the trailer could be used for dual purposes?? Baby Schiada one day, dirt bike the next??? I'm not quite sure!!

The brackets were accidently left at my buddy Stu's paint shop who knocked the paint out for me. He is coming to my shop next week to bring my crackerbox and the bunk brackets.

I am getting stainless U-bolts to hold the bunk on. Previously there was some rusted out steel U-bolts. I kind of like the look of the U-bolts holding the brackets on, so that's why I didn't weld them on

I am making some trick deals for the side steps in a few weeks. Stay tuned :cool
