I know a few of you guys hunt or live in Texas.

Any outfitters for pig hunting you can recommend? Not looking to shoot someone’s pet but don’t want to get skunked either.

Planning on 4 guys depending who gets their balls out of their wife’s purse.

Skipping CO elk this year so this will be the guys trip this year.

My relative in Texas, specialize in High Fence hunting, but thats not the best Wild Hog hunting.

South, or SouthWest Texas is probably the best hog hunting on the planet, especially if their is a corn field near a river. Seriously look at Ranchs on the Nueces rivers or othe rrivers. I will put my feelers out and see if I can get you a Wholesale pricing/ relative discount, versus retail pricing.

I have personally seen 1000lb wild hogs, but I was like 6 years old and we have the pictures to prove it. Hell my relatives still have those pictures. I dont have them, but I was in them. A little fucker. But that was a damn big pig.

As a FYI… there is very little “hunting” when it comes to hunting in Texas.. Its all about which one dies, when you pull the trigger. You have to be carefull on the the pass thru of the bullet hitting the critter behind it.

If you want more info, just PM me.

@copterzach is the man with the knowledge. He can even set you up to shoot the hogs with an AR-15 from the left front seat of a Robinson R44 helicopter in flight.

Definitely a non typical lol. That’s wild.

Go into my BIL Taxidermy shop in Texas. Thats not the biggest.. Not by a long shot.

Crazy shit. That will blow most peoples minds, but again, Texas Hunting isn’t hunting. Its Corporate Expense accounts, taking care of their customers. The $$$ will blow most peoples minds on how much these companys spend on their top customers. Stupid…

These ”hunts” are guaranteed kills if you can hit a beer can at 100yds.

I don’t believe you need tags for feral hogs in TX. Paying to shoot one is crazy IMO and cannot eat them in summer, as they have worms then.

Now you can pay to have one hunted with dogs and you can stab it to death with a Bowie knife if that’s your thing.

You can shoot them from a helicopter... one of these days Im going to go do that.
My uncle did this last week. He's hunted over 50 years and said it was far and away the funnest hunt he's ever been on. I think he paid 2100 and they provided gun and ammo.

Pigs don't require tags and I actually think you don't need a license. You can also hunt them at night.

2100!!! How many reach arounds did that come with? So far most expensive I found was $1000
Most are $550 -$650

I did a boar hunt on Maui once. We used a 6 inch Bowie knife and two dogs. Once the dogs got the boar occupied while sitting at 10 and two, the goal was to sneak up behind the boar, lift their rear legs off the ground and punch the knife in between their fourth and fifth rib.

Our guide claims to be the world record holder for killing a boar with your hands. I did see a tusk so large that it actually curled back into the jaw.

We pinned down 6 that day but only stuck one. The first 5 were practice.

Our Elk thank you.
I read the winter death rate report and have been following a few guides on Instagram.
The heard took a hit this winter and I don’t feel right trying to take another. I have scored 2 cows and 2 bulls since 2013 so I feel grateful for what I have accomplished. Need to let the heard recover and give someone else a chance this year.

Great ethics. We've seen a lot of Elk roadkill this year. We had a heard of about 25 Elk out our back door about a week ago. We have had an extremely harsh, long winter with huge snowfall. Normally we see a lot more but not this year.
BTW, I've hunted pig in Calif. Little known spot is Jack Rabbit Ranch off HWY 46. Myself and some buddies scored there a few years ago. Private Ranch but "Hooks" guide service is exclusive to the ranch.

To be honest that $750 tag contributes to my ethics as well. I’ve accomplished more than I ever thought I could so now it’s not a big deal to skip a year.

For a helicopter hunt? where at I'll book for that
Didn’t know we were talking about helo hunts. To me that is not hunting at all. That’s target practice. It’s not for me.
