What an amazing life lesson.
TEACHER FAILS ENTIRE CLASS: An economics professor at a local college made a statement that she had never failed a single student before, but had recently failed an entire class. That class had insisted that socialism worked and that no one would be poor and no one would be rich, a great equalizer.
The professor then said, "OK, we will have an experiment in this class on this plan". All grades will be averaged and everyone will receive the same grade so no one will fail and no one will receive an A.... (substituting grades for dollars - something closer to home and more readily understood by all).
After the first test, the grades were averaged and everyone got a B. The students who studied hard were upset and the students who studied little were happy. As the second test rolled around, the students who studied little had studied even less and the ones who studied hard decided they wanted a free ride too so they studied little.
The second test average was a D! No one was happy. When the 3rd test rolled around, the average was an F.
As the tests proceeded, the scores never increased as bickering, blame and name-calling all resulted in hard feelings and no one would study for the benefit of anyone else.
To their great surprise, ALL FAILED and the professor told them that socialism would also ultimately fail because when the reward is great, the effort to succeed is great, but when government takes all the reward away, no one will try or want to succeed.
These are possibly the 5 best sentences you'll ever read and all applicable to this experiment:
1. You cannot legislate the poor into prosperity by legislating the wealthy out of prosperity.
2. What one person receives without working for, another person must work for without receiving.
3. The government cannot give to anybody anything that the government does not first take from somebody else.
4. You cannot multiply wealth by dividing it!
5. When half of the people get the idea that they do not have to work because the other half is going to take care of them, and when the other half gets the idea that it does no good to work because somebody else is going to get what they work for, that is the beginning of the end of any nation.

Funny, I'm trying to schedule a meeting right now with my daughter's HS principal and her civics&econ teacher. Well, class is online, and they were "debating the merits of BLM's arguments and tactics". My daughter feels that though the message, on it's face, is somewhat noble, the tactics and overblown proportion is not acceptable. Her little snowflake classmates proceeded to call her racist, and her teacher feels she needs to be more open minded!
Teacher is a just out of NAU, hired because the other guy got a good gig during the shutdown. That said, I don't really feel he was any better, but a tad smarter in what was allowable.
I am in the great debate. If they agree to an in person meeting, do I go dressed for "business", or dressed for "work"? I can, and have, played the role of a businessman, well dressed and quite eloquent in my method of speech. Maybe a 22 year old teacher will respond better to someone of a more educated stature, than to a grease monkey?
Quite funny that I even think about this, as the teacher is saying people must be more "open minded". Seems rather hypocritical, if you ask me. Appearance and judgement...

I have a feeling it will probably be ended via email, as most educators truly fear any meetings with angry parents. Sad that my wife is a teacher, but kind of glad my daughter has switched directions after seeing all the BS from both student and schools.

If my my kid was being taught In public by the teachers using a Marxist organization (BLM) I’d go to School, give them a piece of my conservative, American values mind and rip my kid out of school and either out ho. In private school or home school him. The schools are the reason we’re fighting Marxism in the streets and (sexual) identity politics

LOL well my son is in NY now, but yeah the group chats and IG Dm's are Wild. The problem is you cant argue with a Liberal because they are always right .
So we argue for a little while about a subject . then we discuss family things like vacations, his upcoming wedding. But im sure they hate my views and i definately hate theirs.

My daughter i dont know im conflicted im not sure if its so much the school or her social group. but i am letting her find her way in life and its a excellent school , great preparation for my son for college . Sometning like 98% of student body goes off for some higher education.

Well, this is a charter school...a little of both private and public. This is the only class she takes with that school. The rest of her class load is at the community college, but paid for by the charter.

I understand the homeschool theory. I understand it quite well. My problem is my kids level of intelligence, at least from a mathematics standpoint, far exceeds my own. We, my kids and I, discuss world events, and history, in depth and often. We have books on subjects, and if interests are piqued, we delve deeper into things and find more info, hopefully in print. My strong suit I guess, academically, would be history.
