What’s up inmates!! Anyone have a lead on a shop or someone to install some new swim step brackets(I have new brackets in hand) on the transom of a shockwave tremor. The current brackets got bent the other afternoon on the water so just need new brackets installed on transom and the current swim step.. preferably earlier the better and in LHC..

Ps I tried swimsteps unlimited and they were very cool to talk with how we they are all the way out until sometime in August!! I’d love to save the holiday week for our family.. thanks again RDPers.

Is this not something you can do with a buddy? Most transom brackets are through bolted. Wrench on one side, ratchet on the other. Take it off, fill holes with silicone and reinsert bolts on new brackets and put them back on.

Then take the old brackets off the swimstep side and put the swimstep on the installed new brackets and put that together.

If you have mat material on the swim step you’ll need to just glue it back down after carefully peeling up to expose bolt heads or nuts.

So maybe post some pics and we can give more help.

added pix .. new bracket holes won’t line up with the exsisting bottom holes on the old swim bracket so going to have to plug bottom holes and drill new holes to work.. none of the screws are through bolted back when this boat was built by shockwave in 2008.. marine Tex or 3m 4300 will probably what I’d use if I was doing it by myself..

Nordic/Hallett installed my swimsteps a few years ago with no issues and I had a little bit of unique spacing issue also. Was very happy with the job they did. I have no idea there availability, but may be worth a call as well.

Remove screws bend bracket back up
fill holes with epoxy let cure, set swim step back on and screw back in place
