He is a pretty observant guy, and said that his wife's relatives there for decades have been Leftest German socialists and bought Merkels bag o crap for a long time.
My friend says there was a 180* shift in their attitudes the last time he was there, and it was the first time he had ever seen hard core right wing people gathering and organizing. He told me he would not be surprised to see a huge shift in German politics over the next couple of elections.
That is good....until you think about the last time there was a huge swing in German politics....

The Swedish police spokeswoman Ulla Brehm says that they have DECIDED to NOT arrest anyone over the riots last night. Instead they have identified them and will be talking with their families.

Just like in the US, when you get out of the big urban centers the regular working people of the country lean conservative. Bavaria put it's foot down against Merkel a while back and said if the German government wouldn't enforce the borders then Bavarian authorities would enforce and patrol their section themselves.

If I had a daughter, I would have a Dobie just like that one.....We had a Dobie/Pit mix that jumped on my sister's high school boyfriend after he shoved her and started yelling at her. "Tank" jumped on that guy's back and sank his teeth into his neck. If I wasn't there, he probably would have torn his head off. My Dad cooked Tank a nice rare new york steak that night.
