Swamp Cooler Season coming: Disinfectant.

I dump the water out of the swamp cooler every 10 days to 2 weeks. With all that evaporation lots of minerals left behind and it avoids build up on the pads and unit in addition to better performance.

Also I add an 1/2 oz of Green shield Disinfectant each change out to prevent loathsome diseases and bacteria development. Legionnaires is a deadly one and hard to treat.

This stuff also as a bonus keeps the algae growth to zero.
Green algae is ok it’s the brown that’ll do you in.

Then a few drops of oil in the pillow block bearings.

Mine has the auto purge pump. I think it's on every 12 hours. Definitely helps ton keeping buildup down. But I think I'll add some disinfectant so the Pads can get some attention.

Yep purge pump is the way to go.
