Just got back from an epic boys trip to a wave pool in Waco Tx with my buddies I grew up surfing with. Haven't been on a surf trip with a few of my boys for over 15 years and its pretty funny we went to a wave pool. BSR CABLE park is so fun. They have the wave pool, wakeboard cable park, lazy river and a large slide jump. You can pick which type of wave you want. Left or right, point break, barrel, double barrel or an air section. It will never be as good as the real thing, but its pretty dam close.

I like the consistency of the BSR waves better than what Slater has going currently. Saw the Jamie O'Brien video when he was there, the waves look fun as hell.

you get 3 wave sets every 45 seconds at BSR and Slaters is 1 wave every 5 minutes I believe. BSR is really fun.

I’m going to the Surf Ranch in September and I’m stressing that I don’t kook out. I hear it’s a difficult wave to surf initially.

Ha ha hell yeah you got it!!! It was always a joke growing up talking about surfing in a wave pool, but now it’s really fun. Ha ha.
Looks like it is bad ass. I like how they have a "beach" and area to chill and watch. I don't think Slater's place up north has such a beach / chill area does it? Almost like you'd want to throw a party while riding some wave pool waves. :D:D

Oh, and great freakin' movie by the way! Still love it and my 9 and 4 year olds watch it all the time. My 9 year old always says, "Yea? No!" Like turtle. :D

Slater's setup is very nice with a large deck for viewing and a clubhouse/locker room area. It is a repurposed ski lake so there aren't any other attractions like water slides/cable park or the like.

That's what I was thinking as well, why is it so green.

I think they dye the water so the light doesn't penetrate, thus keeping algae and weeds from growing. It must lessen or eliminate the need for chlorine treatments. I see it at some golf courses and parks.

That’s going to be epic. Post some pics on here when you go. I bet it only takes a wave or 2 to get the hang of it.

This sounds like a better answer than mine. Ha ha. You couldn’t see your hand an inch under water. Make sense.

The beach is really cool to hang on. That movie is still on rotation at my house also.
