I am trying to juggle a few thing for an earlier arrival to be in town Th-S. I am in the same boat figuratively not sure what we are going to be doing. That is after my chores of course.

2 years ago, or maybe 3 years ago we did that and it was so nice being on the water for 12 days. SCFW was 1st weekend then we got a room at nautical and let the
Kids swim at the pool couple days then DS started and I gotta be honest, that DS weekend was the worst weekend I’ve ever been on havasu. Never seen it more crowded. Lake
Looked like the 405, Fuckin NIGHTMARE! soured me on the whole weekend. It was covid year I believe so it was more crazy but then we did DS again last year and it’s just kinda lost its appeal. Disorganized, crowded, the dock situation isn’t great, the run is meh the shootouts always a bust and now that they’ve gotten rid of shotgun start, there’s not even the cool aspect of watching that (which I understand why they got rid of but still). Best part is the street fair and even then we usually just end up getting hammered at the Barrett booth and barely walk
Around lol I can live with skipping it.

We’re heading to the upper river Sunday through Friday for their spring break though and plan On running the boat wed or Thursday. Be back and forth from river to needles all week.

It is at Windsor where it always is.. they put out a thing yesterday that said they were still looking for vendors. I was kinda surprised by that because I heard it was sold out awhile back?

Man, I'm telling you, If they were smart they'd be in touch with you about combining the events. Maybe some politics, maybe some pride, maybe some lack of vision, maybe D, all of the above?

I said it before, don't know many people that come to Havasu for this boat show. Seems like its mostly a local event, meaning it's put on and mostly people that live there or happen to be in town attend. To piggy back off a "destination event" (aka people actually coming specifically for the event, like SCFW) would be the smart move.

If I was real smart I'd just pick a weekend in march and put on the RiverDaves Boat show and Horsepower Week.. Invite all the Mfg's for minimum cost.. invite speed boat and speed on the water etc to do boat tests during the week, and then do a big event the following weekend.. Then not deal with any of the existing guys.. LOL.

That said SuperCat is a shit ton of work, and I'm very happy with the amount of money it's raising for charity so I'm gonna keep on with that one and just keep growing it.

I did see the boat show announced yesterday that they were still accepting vendors.. This would be the first time that I can remember that it hasn't been sold out months in advance. I shared their post on the rdp group page to try and help them get some vendors. @twocents I wish you weren't retired.. We could really use you back in the mix.
