He bought a Hondo Sprint from me a few years ago, did he finish it? Just curious.

Yes. I bought from a guy up in Crestline. I started doing some work on it and decided to pull the rip cord and starting building a new one. Do you have it now?
Yes, it does need a bit of work. I just bought the materials to put new stringers and balsa floors in it. That paint job was an absolute disaster, I used my pressure washer and finger nail to remove it. I figured I needed the Sprint to round out my Hondo collection. I’ve got a 71 flat and a 76 runner bottom.

That’s cool! We put the “Project X” on the back after we started digging into it. I have some of the hardware from the boat, motor rails, motor plates and some other odds and end I believe. You are welcome to all that stuff if you like.
When I took the toe board out there was 2 5 gallon buckets of varmint shit under the deck, something had a little den set up under there.

Thank you, it would be nice to put those parts back in it. I’m in Santa Barbara, where are you located? Also I thought I had the toe board for it , did it go with the boat when you sold it?

I’m in Visalia. I had it to use as a pattern, but don’t recall if I put it in the boat when Stu bought it. I sold it to him with most of the cavitation hardware, tanks and few other things. Shoot me a DM with your # and I can text you a picture of what I have from the boat.
Mike
Hopefully we aren’t hijacking the thread too much, trying to keep it good for Stu’s boat.

Mouzer I'm with you on this, but I can see why it hasn't sold. Whoever buys it will have to sink a lot of time and money into the hull to "Do it right." Looks like it needs new stringers at the minimum, so there's an investment right out of the gate. While we're at it, we might as well redo the bulkhead under the dash. Well, we're this far into it, so we might as well do the floors while we've got it all torn apart. Money money money!

stu knows boats he claims floors and stringers r solid and the hull has been sanded and ready for prime and paint..........he said floors could use a clear but its ready to rock......he said 2 people now have looked at it both want it but have to sell something or come up with the money.....

I trust that he knows more about these hulls than most. 👍 Someone will eventually pick these hulls up from him and do them justice. I wish I was one of those buyers, but I can't make it work because of space limitations and the whole "Happy wife happy life" conundrum. 🤣

My 19' Howard stringers looked OK when I bought it, but ended up cutting them out anyways. There were holes that needed to be filled and a small amount of delamination along the hull bottom. I was happy I made that decision because moving forward, I know it will be a solid foundation for my rebuild.

The one your thinking of was my other circle hull I had the whole top of boat cut off took 2" off the hull then the deck put back on so it was really low profile had new floors stringers new paint then sold it for $7500 after investing $12 k. Only $$$$$$$$$
