Warehouse employees are unskilled workers who need to be barely literate and be able to tape boxes shut. That skillset does not command top dollar and stellar working conditions. The "corporate elitists" are the ones who are fully literate and have skills that allow them market themselves and gain employment in position that command more than the ability to tape boxes shut and stick labels to them.
