Start putting rounds through these asshole thiefs.....and they'll stop stealing people's shit. I'm so sick and tired of this. 👎

My buddy grabbed this truck last week about 1 minute after it was reported stolen. Shit bag went to jail, even here in L.A. County. 👍

The column was pretty torn up though.....

Stolen in the high desert but found in Riverside.
Now hearing it may have been in a high speed pursuit 🤷‍♂️
Until you said that, I didn't put 2 and 2 together yesterday... But yes, a pursuit mostly reported here in Moreno Valley as they raced around just west of say the lake Perris general area... Here's a short video of it happening.... Some said of FB they thought there were as many as 30 police cars behind it.

OH wow. LOL
My buddy is going to see it some time today.
Hopefully its save able. He is not her dad but he gave her his truck and they spent some time building a bond fixing it together. She just turned 18 and has been putting all her own money into it.

Ok LE answer a question for me please. No disrespect intended but we see these car chases all the time and mostly California and I get why but, why does every unit within 100 miles have to show up. Seems to me that is a waste of resources and leaves a lot of empty coverage. I never could figure out why it takes 30 units to stop one and then everyone gets out guns up and basically stands around. Big supporter of LE but this has always had me bumfuzzled. Any good reason I’m missing?

familiar with the phrase "better to have it and not need it.. than need it and not have it"?

You can never predict what's gonna happen...... who's in the car, armed?, where they going?, (ambush)... yes it's happened

And nobody wants to miss out on a potential ass beatin...lol. well, maybe not so much any more...

I don't know why they do. It was policy in my Department that pursuits were to be limited to 2 primary pursuing vehicles. The front vehicle, to maintain visibility on the suspect vehicle, and the second to keep dispatch/supervisors advised of location, speeds, traffic, weather, etc. Other vehicles involved would be limited to traffic control, blocking intersections, and paralleling the active pursuit, being ready to take over primary or secondary position(s) if one of those units became disabled, searching/recovering evidence that may have been tossed, and checking on non-participants that may have been struck during the pursuit. They would also be there when the pursuit ended, to assist in apprehension, or ground foot pursuit, in case the suspect bails. The "Follow the Leader" pursuit technique, with dozens of vehicles (e.g. the OJ chase), is too hard to manage, especially when the chase goes through and involves numerous jurisdictions.

That policy was developed by experts as part of a policy package used in numerous states/counties/cities, etc. But not all Agencies have the same policies, so if "I" am trying to call (manage) a pursuit to MY Policies, Officers from other jurisdictions: (1) may not have the same policy limitations/permissions, (2) may not be in radio contact with my dispatch, me, or the primary/secondary pursuit vehicles.

The Supervisor SHOULD be the third unit on scene at the end of the pursuit, behind the primary/secondary units, primarily to maintain, what's called, "Post Pursuit Discipline". The one common denominator in nearly all police pursuits is that the pursuing officer(s) get all amped up with adrenaline, anger, frustration, etc, and can be inclined to use unnecessary force in taking the violator into custody. I know you've all seen it, when the bad guy gets out of the vehicle and lays down, but the cops run up on him, piling on, punching, kicking, etc. It's one thing if the guy is actively resisting and fighting back, but once the guy's proned out on the ground and listening/complying with commands, they need to dial it back, some. The Supervisor being on scene can bring down the level.

Short answer, when ever you have that many cops, caravanning behind a pursuit, more often than not, it ends up turning into and episode of "Keystone Cops".

Otherwise they'd have to fight crime?

Thanks for that informed answer BC. I always wondered with that many units who was running the show. But ii is Commifornia I guess. Just seems like a huge waste of resources and manpower but what do I know.

Cops nowadays are always in a 'damned if you do, damned if you don't' situation. I like watching olds Cop's episodes where one officer will arrest 3 thugs, then throw them all in the back of his car with no cage. Nowadays people are just too violent, and they've been shown/instructed on how to be as violent as possible.

I saw the posts on IG and it’s not far from where I live. Glad they found the truck.
