I was bummed when I got home from the military and planned on buying a new stoker off the show room floor down the street from my house.....just to find out they closed up shop.

This is exciting news
Just saw this on FB, should make some peps real happy!

Just wanted to let everyone know we are getting close to a deal on the boats being built again. I will update as soon as more info is available.

Saw this as well, he said he and his dad are not going to be involved in production, so they are licensing someone to use the molds I guess. Hopefully they dont cost $125k like some other older 21 foot hulls being offered again by another company.

Having heavy four-stroke power won't help.
There's the rub.

The 20' worked well with a 1st gen E-tec, but the 2nd gen was too heavy. All the 4 strokes are too heavy. I think this is probably to replace all the race hulls lost in the last few years and get some non-30 year old fiberglass to keep the drivers safer.

I'd buy one if I could buy a new engine that would work right on it...but I can't.

This is exactly right. Current power is way too heavy for that hull.

Now the 22 is a Whole different story...

I talked to Alan several times when I had a stoker. He said it wasn’t so much the weight of the new outboards but rather the size of the new lower units that didn’t agree with the boats. They were designed around the CLE and early sportmaster lowers, now the width and bullet size on the lowers is much bigger than they were back then. The issue is blow out. Had it happen on a GMT, was using the stock lower while the CLE was being fixed, the stock lower was good to about 80, shortly thereafter the boats shakes back and forth and turns hard on it’s own, wakes you up pretty quick.

I'm assuming that is due to the lower providing too much lift? Could that be reduced by blending the transition from sketch to bullet more, reducing the most effective lifting surface of the lower?

Crazy how the 2.5 is still such an iconic motor, and searched for high and low.

I agree. Long live the 2.5!

The red with twins is insane!!!
