If you’re losing service for three hours I’d double check your dish setup, make sure that hasn’t moved. If that is solid, maybe Starlink is moving sats around as they are always launching more. Check the Starlink app on your phone and maybe run some diagnostics tests during your outages. See what it comes back with.

Dumb question when you sign up for Starlink, do you use it both at home and in the RV and ditch the ISP or is it just set up for the RV? I wouldn't mind ditching Spectrum and just pay service to 1 provider but not sure if that's an option.

yeah, we have the rv version that sometimes goes to the river so the wife can "work" from home. It is our primary internet/ streaming source at home. we live out in the sticks and cable isn't an option. this is second best.

Ya gotta tickle it once and awhile.

Auto track systems will eventually make it to market.

I wondered this as well. Then it makes the 150 not so bad. Otherwise, that's steep just for the RV.

I have the RV version and always experience lower speeds between 5-9pm. Never have had a complete shutdown

Another stupid question if you're traveling with starlink and using it on the road then you no longer have internet access at home for all of your Wi-Fi devices like cameras, alarms, lights, etc? Or can you have multiple satellite/routers so you are always connected at home and on the road?

Requires 2 systems.

I have 2 routers (one @ home, one in RV). Still have to take satellite from house to RV. Don’t feel like paying for 2 subscriptions.

I have a Spectrum business account at my house and use the Starlink as backup.

I bought the standard setup for the RV only. It costs $150/mo for the roam package, but you can pause it whenever you want. When you turn it on, it goes for 30 days at a time though. Given how much I use the RV, this should work out to having the same yearly cost ($600ish) as the $50/mo hotspot I was getting from Verizon that never had near the speed that Starlink does.

If the starlink aint at your house then no, you don't magically get internet there for all your devices 😆

If you want your house to have a full time internet connected, then you gotta pay for a full time internet connection.

I went over board with Starlink.

First system we got for the Parker house and it saved our ass during COVID. I purchased the RV system becasue Parker was not open yet back then, I since switched it to residential and have it permanently installed. System #2 was for the RV, The plan was to turn it off when its not being used but we use the RV monthly. System #3 we got for the Havasu house. I dont notice any slow speeds on any of them but I am not a bandwich snob either

We cancelled all DIrect TV and Dish network for the 3 properties and are saving more money then the three Starlinks cost. We ended up getting YouTube TV and stream it on all three properties for $60 a month. We have full cell service and internet anywhere we travel in the RV. Its bad ass!!!

My cameras at home are connected to my neighbors network so I can see them when starlink is with me.
