That "red" line is what was the original road going up to the dam, all that "vacant" land to the left of that road is The Keyes. If you look at the red x at the lower left, appears to be a harbor inlet of some sort ? Back in the day, Sport's Valley WAS the hotspot on the river. I used to run around with 2 of Jack & Shirley Barnes ( owners) daughters back then. I still see the youngest daughter, Carolyn, when I go thru Vegas.

to me the land to the left looks like where riverland is today. The red x looks like where the condos are now. That looks like your looking at the ca side from the az side.

Nope. Going down stream the river turns left right in front of the keys. so there for, you are looking at the AZ side. (Dont ask me how I know that turn so well. lol!)

The red X is where the Casa del Rio Condos are. The red X is on the Arizona side of the river. I have the same photo at home. My house is now in that photo.

The red line is California Hwy 62 WITHOUT A DOUBT. to the left of the red line is River Land. What appears to be a parking lot with cabanas in the foreground is now the "Keys". I have no doubt that this picture is looking south over the top of what became the "Keys". As stated earlier the inlet is where the Condos are south of where "Sports Vally" was. You can even see the old "Sports Vally" building right there just right of the red X which validates the froeground is Arizona and the background "red line" is Cali.....

Awesome photo. Pick is definitely taken on the AZ side looking at riverland across the river. SO rad to see how the river looked many years before I was ever born

heyyy now, I remember sports valley really well. Great French Onion Soup, Pool table in the center of the bar room, picking which horse was lucky for my uncle to bet on, 3 arcades in the tiny arcade room. Dark tinted windows as you were sitting at the bar looking out at the river

Good times and memories growing up :thumbsup

Way back in the day you could cook your own steak! Yes, those tinted windows! I'm sure we were all there at the same time and never knew it :thumbsup

Welcome to River Dave's,, tell us more!

I would have been there for the first time in the mid to late 60's I think.
