Kawasaki won’t be the fastest but they are known for his being well built and reliable.
These will be a hit with the trail riding people.
How do you compete with something that doesn't exist??
I've been eyeballing the Honda...
No rubberband. Solid dealer Network. Factory turbo kit options.
When did anyone Ever go wrong buying a Honda??
If Honda made the talon look like that off the showroom floor, people would buy themMy son is one the lead guys for the Honda Talon offroad race team. They just won the Baja500. He is convincing me to get a talon. They are built to be reliable.

I have owned Teryx and RZR’s. Build quality seemed much better on the Teryx.4 seat is over 2100# with the same underpowered motor as their 2 seater for $30,000?
The polaris pro xp turbo is 181 hp and less weight and less money

Exist This 4 seater was "supposed" to be out late last year.
The honda can blow up when turboed and the suspension sucks. The wide 2 seater Talon R is decent, but still way behind modern cars.
This Kawi is way better honestly. Of the NA cars, aside from being slow, the Kawi is the best of the rest.
The race Honda Talon isn't much of a Talon.

I have Zero interest in racing...
If I was to break down and buy one of these things, I'd want something as dependable as the day is long.
All the magazine articles I've read have had nothing but good to say about it.
I'd be more inclined to buy this than a rubber band powered toy.
Do we know anyone that has a Talon?
That is my point. The racing one is good. The factory one is good for a 2016 car made in 2022. It is ill riding, and slow compared to anything new. But yea it is a Honda.
The 2 seat R is decent handling with work but still slow. I know people that have dumped another $20K into them and they are pretty good.
If you want something dependable as the day is long you aren't putting "dealer added turbo kits" on it. Those engines are known to pop a ring land with the turbo kit.
I'm not saying they are bad, but you can get something better for the money. There is a reason they don't sell very well.
So you didn't answer my question...
Do we know anyone that has one?
Edit: No need for a turbo. We have discussed this before.
Yes I know a couple people that own them. One is bad ass.. but it had $18-$20k spent on it.
If you can get one for cheap it will be fine to play with. The NA cars are fast enough for 95% of use, aside from duning. I wouldn’t waste your money buying a new one, and don’t expect the performance of a modern car.
Parts are harder to get, and no one ever has them in stock because they don’t sell that well.
The Honda is so ugly though, I think that's what turns a lot of buyers off
I would Never take a SxS in the dunes, they are absolutely Worthless for that! Yet, lots of people do it. I don't get that.
I have NO expectations about performance.
My expectations are all dependability based. If I'm out exploring Death Valley, Joe's Valley or some other wide open desert/mountain area, I wanna get back to base camp no issues.
My bro in law probably has 100k in his canned ham. 20k? Sounds cheap!
As dumb as this sounds, then buy a used RZR. Yes they have problems. They are all documented at this point, and 99% of them are preventable for a few dollars if you "know before you go" and maintain the machine.
If performance is not your concern and you aren't going to dune the thing, you will go 1000s of miles on a belt.
RZR parts are everywhere. If you bought a Honda I'd only by the 2 seater R version.
Makes sense.
Some of my desert crew have Years on their belts. I still don't like em though.
Just my preference.
Because all the SXS's mentioned will be used up before the Speed car ever comes out if it does !!Speed Car so far not mentioned in this thread. Anything we should know?
The Speed team has been in Asia for 3 weeks visiting suppliers. I think they are finishing that tour by visiting Australian suppliers and then suppliers in the US. Assembly line has been going with the first batch of factory assembled cars to iron out the assembly process. The short wheelbase 72" preproduction car is out as well.Speed Car so far not mentioned in this thread. Anything we should know?

I just want to say this.
I had a shit load of fun in my stock 08 teryx. To Say these new NA aren’t fast enough is just plain silly. They are plenty fast.
I do and it’s been great, it needs money spent on shocks but so do my dirt bikes so I don’t care.I have Zero interest in racing...

We spoke with a rental shop in Utah that sells their RZR’s at 10,000 miles and their Hondas are still strong at 14,000 so no plans on selling. 11 of their RZR’s were crated up and heading to South America.I would Never take a SxS in the dunes, they are absolutely Worthless for that! The belt sounds dumb until you drive with it. In the Honda you'd have it in "auto" shifting mode 95% of the time.
This is coming from someone that daily drives a 6 speed manual car.. 95% of the time I'm off road, I would not want to be shifting. either I'm trying to cruise, or I'm trying to hustle the car through a trail. It is fun when you are on it, but you can't really just run these things around in 3rd gear, you are constantly shifting... it is a 1L motor in a 1800 lb car.
If and when the belt breaks you pop on a new one in 5 mins.
I still think a bone stock turbo s is the best overall and most reliable RZR to date. But I’m a little biased lol
I've sat shotgun in just about every car out there, except a Talon!
And 5 min? Wacha been smoking Willis???
It take 30 min just to unwrap every single piece of shredded belt from the pulleys!
And then let's not forget getting all your gear off, getting your tools out, removing the covers, and the doing all that in reverse??
Oh and hope it doesn't break in some fucked up location, because of course, Murphy's law designates that it will!
So much fun when everything you touch is trying to cook the skin from your fingers.
What a waste of time when you're out trying to have fun.
Fuck that belt shit. No thank you.

Just open that 7.3's tailgate and roll a 660 Rhino in there already.........
King of 2002!
I can have my belt changed before other people in the group can get out of their cars and open a beer. It takes 2 tools to do the whole job.
Gloves aren’t even needed when you use the correct belt and don’t have to mess with the clutches.
If you are picking shit out of the clutches you are using the wrong brand belt. Even in those cases I can remove the clutch, clean it out and be back on the trail in 20 mins.
You have plenty of warning when they are going, they rarely just randomly break unless you just wounded them.
Like we stated.. a Talon is a great machine for 2016. Any car made in the last couple years will have more features and be better overall.
