Roadcourse was just resurfaced. Big restaurant/VIP lounge Turn 11 at the bottom of the hill. Tower is in the way of the road course looking uphill from Turn 11. Supposedly they believe they can manage the drag strip from the media center. I was told the drag strip manager didn't know about this until he was sent this video yesterday.

Wow, that’s sad. When I lived there (2011-12) I was there every Wednesday night for racing and they usually had a weekend points event once a month. The roadcoarse never had anything going on, sounds like that has shifted.

WOW. That's pretty shitty. I was never in the tower but it has been a staple at the track forever.

From the pics I've seen on line it doesn't appear to be too much in the way of viewing the track. It might just be old and out dated looking.

Maybe it’s being rebuilt and modernized? Or moved to a new location and built new? Or they use a temporary build for the weekend building instead for the drags and then it comes down after?

Sonoma is a nice multi-use track. Hard to imagine they forgo the drags.

They are going to use the media center building. It's kinda far away, but they seem to believe it will work. No plans for a new tower. Wednesday night drags only happen once a month now and there are only 5 bracket races on the schedule. 3 weekends,,,

I've been told the drift cars bring in more money than the drag cars.
