The song Me And You And A Dog Named Boo came on today and it took me back to the early 70’s, riding in my dad’s 69 El Camino going up the 15 with the motorcycles in the back cruising up to Stoddard Wells Road above Victorville to go dirt bike riding, listening to this song early in the morning on KFI with Lohmann and Barkley. Good times.

Anything by Bread, Kenny Rogers, or Neil Diamond takes me back to camping with my family when I was a kid. I swear some songs take me right back into the back seat of our Bronco, leaving home at dawn with the trailer in tow, snuggled in the back seat with a blanket and a yellow lab, and the smell of my parents coffee as we hit the road for an amazing adventure.

Great thread.

My late father was born in 1927. He grew up in the big band era, and he loved that music, and loved to dance to it. Anytime I hear anything by Glenn Miller, it takes me back. I thank him for helping me learn to appreciate music.

Anything by America, The Beach Boys, Steely Dan, Firefall, ELO, Santana, Boston. CCR. The Moody Blues.
I am a sucker for 3 and 4 part harmony, and these days you can find that in some country music.
Todays Rock just doesn't grab me, and I have tried.

I still listen to CD and vinyl, when I was packing up the CD's to move I counted them just for the hell of it.
I stopped counting at 210.
I feel bad for people who don't love music.
I love Jazz as well...go listen to Larry Carlton, Norman Brown on guitar, Chriss Botti on horn, If you want a real treat go find some Candy Dulfer on the Sax..
I could go on and on...

The ELO song Shangri-la is a time stamp on my life, and it takes me back to a very special time.
Not to mention it is a tour de force of Jeff Lynne's genius.

Bunch of old fuks in here.

I got me a new 1972 Chevy Van in high school and would camp in Parker every weekend. A loaf of white bread, a jar of peanut butter, and 3 cases of Budweiser was my weekend diet.

So many but yes. Neil Diamond and CCR being on when leaving at midnight and driving through the desert. Looking at strange lights.
Even listen to Dr D or old school radio stories.
Great memories.

My Father bought me a 49 Jeepster when I was 14. The body man helped me redo it. Great memories of driving around with the top down cranking AC/DC, REO and Journey.

Not that old but the question was what songs take you back in time.

If it’s a playlist of my high school years and early 20s it would be more like.

Then!

Then life changed forever!
