*NO TRADES, thanks* One-of-a-kind 1997 Ultra Custom Boats 20XT Tunnel Hull with 225 Mercury EFI outboard (1997). $17,000.00 Firm.

Truly a head-turner, the gelcoat on this boat is absolutely flawless. Truly Bristol condition. You won't find a cleaner boat. The boat has never been stored in the water or beached on the sand. The upholstery is in pristine condition with no rips or tears. The carpet and bimini are in excellent condition as well. The boat also includes a ski pole and very large storage area.

The hull was custom built by John West and Ultra Custom Boats. The top is a 20XT Ultra, and the bottom is a Southwind Tunnel, a feature that not only makes this a one-of-a-kind, but also gives the boat an unmatched, smooth ride in any water conditions. There are no other boats like this.

The 1997 225 Mercury EFI outboard with a SportMaster lower unit and a Mazco Prop is newly rebuilt by a certified Mercury mechanic (contact information available). The break-in on the new motor has been completed and re-verified as sound by the Merc mechanic. The boat also includes a brand new SeaStar Hydraulic Steering system. The motor also has all new lower unit gears and seals.

The trailer is a Competitive Trailer with newer tires.

The reason for the sale is because we bought another boat when we found a deal that could not be passed up. No need for Lowball offers, as they won't be considered.

That is one unique rig John built for you. It looks like he kept the I/O sun pad so that you have a huge storage area under there. I did the same thing when I converted my Ultra 23XS from I/O to Wacker and it worked out really well. Is that a 2.5L 225 or 3.0L ? Also, that lower looks like a Sporty?

We purchased it from the original owner. The back storage area is really useful to have since you lose much of the under seat storage due to the tunnels. I believe the motor is the 3.0 L (max rpm 6500 - it's the Fish and Ski model) and it does have the Sportmaster lower unit.

I still have a few more years of DaytonaBabe left before another name change... lol

Well lets's see what sounds good

DCB = Dave'sBabe........Hmmm, maybe not
Nordic = NordicBabe.....Could work, you got the look down
Pontoon = PontoonBabe.....Been there done that
Playcraft = PlayBabe......This has possibilities

It would seem that what you really need is some kind of "James" boat......cuz at the end of the day we all know that you are really James'Babe :D:D:D

LMAO! PlayBabe sounds fun!! The next name, if all goes as planned, will be PhantomBabe (KMG), but like I said, that won't happen for a few years. :D

If you have a 3.0L Sportmaster Lower Unit, the L/U alone is worth big coin. GLWS!

I was wrong. Just verified that it is the 2.5 with the SportMaster lower unit. :)

A freshwater only 1997 Promax 2.5L 225 is very hard to come by these days. Rebuilt properly is even tougher. These motors made 240hp on the dyno. If your Sportmaster lower unit has the small shaft, that is also tough to come by as the new ones are all fat shaft lowers. The lower unit alone on your motor routinely trades for $2,500 used. Post a picture of the custom dog house and the new steering. :thumbup:

Thanks for the information!!! The boat has only ever been in freshwater. How would I tell if the shaft is the small or fat shaft? The motor is completely stock, no mods like some people do for extra speed or whatnot...

I'll post some pics of the steering tomorrow when it is light outside. As for the doghouse, forgive my ignorance, but I think you're talking about this? haha, permission granted to laugh at me if I'm way off :) lol

Yep, that is one sweet doghouse. You can count the splines on the prop shaft, if it has 15 you have the small shaft and that will fit a wider variety of used props. :thumbsup

TTT for a cool Ultra.......:thumbsup

1997 Ultra Custom Boats 20XT Tunnel Hull (1-of-1)
1997 2.5L Mercury 225 Promax
Sportmaster 1.87 Race Lower Unit with small shaft
Sea Star Pro Hydraulic Steering
Dual Axle Float On Trailer

A very nice deal at $17,000 and mint condition

Shoot a pic of the foil tag in the clamp bracket. Depending on what exactly you have there you could have a 240hp Promax. What year is the trailer?

Thank you!!!!

Okay, so I'm not exactly sure what foil tag you are looking for. Is this it? Sorry for the crappy pic, it was dark outside this morning when I took it.

The trailer is a '97

That is the tag. I have had the '97 Promax put on the dyno and it made 241 horsepower. They are strong motors and will run forever if fed good fuel and oil.

1997 2.5L Mercury 225 Promax (makes 241hp)
Sportmaster 1.87 Race Lower Unit with small shaft
Sea Star Pro Hydraulic Steering
1997 Competitive Dual Axle Float On Trailer

Now an even nicer deal at $17,000 and in mint condition
