Daylight Savings time has the animals wanting to be fed an hour earlier than normal, so up for that.

Alice has been up all night in bed writing hand written Cards to 40 co workers enclosed with a high quality, ground lens, neon light, custom ordered and engraved pocket flashlights.
Night Shift Nurses work in the dark, a good flashlight is essential.

At her goodbye party she'll distribute the flashlights and handwritten cards then.

2 more shifts this week and she is retired at a young age.

Who's been up all night?

Compliments of the winds here in the San Gabriel Valley. The trunk of the tree in the first picture is almost 5' across. It's all been cut up and temporarily stacked up on the median until morning.

It was an uneasy night with the wind ripping all night, when it comes from the north mike this over the mountain it hits our neighborhood broadside and hard. Powers been out all night there is a huge tree down the street that took out some lines, but the outage is widespread as SCE just pulled the plug on a few thousand homes as precaution.

Wind died down about 3:00am so I went out to look around the property, so far we’ve lost a few branches but nothing major, since I was up I went by my pops place to assess and it all looked good for a quick drive by. Then I went by my office at the airport to see if things were okay there, everything checked out okay, all the planes were fine and no damage.

Got back home and now the wind is picking back up. Not sure if I’m up for the day at this point or gonna hit the sack for a bit🤷‍♂️

Brutal.
What kinda wood is that?

I have no idea Sir. I was laughing the whole time because this crew showed up with a vengeance! Complete with GAS powered chainsaws that would have impressed the saltiest lumberjacks out there! No sissy-ass "Go green" battery powered BS trimmers. These men had the big boy tools!! 💪

I ratchet strapped my trash cans to my rv gate and then strapped the lids closed. I was tired of hearing them banging around and the lids slamming open

Trash day here. Garbage cans blowing over and escaped empty beer cans rolling down the street.
Same here, my cans were still up when I left but tons of cans throughout the neighborhood were blown over. I’m sure I’ll be tracking my cans down when I get home.

Had trouble getting to sleep last night with the wind noise. Slept ok but woke early(3-4am??) and the wind seemed to have layed down but by 6 it was howling like a pack of banshees again.

Up until 2 or so, and up at 5...no wind to speak of really, not all that cold either. Lots going on here, but also thinking of people I know Cali. The images on the news or horrid...but I did admire the FD guy using the bulldozer on the cars. @TPC , glad your wife is healing up and heading out. I hope there's another to take her spot though. Some of us know nurses can be a bright light at a dark time.

Slept pretty good. But again we are used to this type of wind in north Fontana off the 15 and 210.

Did you lose power? We lost it between about 8:30 and 1030 last night. Near Archibald below Baseline.
NEver even flickered, I think it was worse in Rancho and Upland. My room shook a few times but I slept most of the night.

My pool in BHC has an inch of mud in it. Had to shutoff the pump and going to have to manually pump out the mud. I was up all night dispatching generators to our LA stores that got the power shutoff.

A tree took out the power lines in my neighborhood around 7:30 last night, was in bed by 8:30, but since there was no power I couldn’t use my bipap machine and slept for shit snoring and waking myself up. Got up at 3:30 with a headache and still no power. Has to use my Makita flashlight to light up my bathroom to take a shower. With no power the house was cold this morning. Good thing I packed a Celsius in my lunch, I was getting drowsy driving up to Lancaster this morning. Wife says still no power at home and can’t find shit about an ETA when it might be back on at the SCE power outage website.
