It's the state of the state. We're in an election cycle and politics are not only dominating the headlines but also the commercials in battleground states, and the candidate signs are plastered on any and every vacant lot and billboard. Accordingly, it's top of people's minds these days and everyone has an opinion. It's not surprising that people are now starting to venture to the lounge and getting their feelings hurt when they try to express opinions contrary to the majority. Same things happens to me when I post comments on YooHoo or HuffPoo...
Personally, I haven't noticed anything difference in temperature here now vs. before. And why people get hurt over comments by anonymous internet strangers is beyond me (although a lot of you know each other personally, but I'm guessing you're not the people getting your feelings hurt...).
If it's not hurting your business or otherwise adversely impacting you, then let it run its course and people will move on as new topics get posted. It's what we do.
