The mulies around here are damn near like that...a week after season closes It's like there's a big callender posted in the forest...they knowThat's what happens when deer get fed by humans.
That happened to me. I bagged a nice muley buck in New Mexico's Gila Wilderness, a rugged area in the SW area of the state. I had walked in with a buddy about four miles, entering topography that consisted of steep and repeated knife edge ridges with narrow valley floors.I’d walk it to my truck…….
May as well make it as easy as possible.
As a funny side note. My friend shoots an Elk in No Arizona. When asked later about the experience, he said he regretted not shooting it closer to a road. lol
I learned real quick, accuracy and range can actually be a kick in the balls. Just because you can take it down, doesn't mean it still won't try to kill you packing it out!I’d walk it to my truck…….
