And says "Somebody stole my effin car."
She went in to a Walmart to grab a sandwich for the drive home. Came out and her car was gone. I tell her to hang up and call 911. She does and gets a case number. Then she goes in to see if there is any surveillance video. Meanwhile I jump in my truck and start jamming to Bakersfield. About twenty minutes later I get a call from her.

She says " I feel like such an ass."

Turns out she came out a different entrance in the fog and couldn't find her car with the remote or see it....

I'm laughing my ass off here.

Think I'll go print up a "lost" flyer and tape it to the community mail box.:champagne:

It's OK, I've been in tears in Bakersfield many times. I actually did that once in old Pasadena. Thought my truck had been stolen till I looked over at the adjacent parking structure and saw it.

Haha that's epic and will make a great story for years!

I've lost my new white crew cab Silverado a couple times in the past month. Last truck was a very distinctive blue with some custom work. This one looks the same as everybody else [emoji22]

When I was in college, I had a lady friend park and dash into lecture only to come out and find her junky old POS car gone. She is in tears. We tell her to go to campus police. She goes in and says, "some bad men stole my car!!!!" :( They calm her down and hop in one of their cruisers with two officers to go to the area and make a report, as they are driving there, she spots her car in another parking lot, where she had actually parked it!!!! :D :D She exclaims, "there's my car!!!" The officers can't stop laughing, and on says, "Oh, is that where the bad men moved it too?!?!?!" "Don't worry, we will catch the bad men!!! :D :D, I still laugh about it and wish I was there to see it play out. :D

Ive done the parking structure once before. My whole family drives trucks. When we hop in a friends car to go somewhere it never fails we try to get in the wrong car when we leave where ever we went. One friend has a fancy black bmw and I tried getting in a pos civic thinking that was his bmw. He was offended big time.

Did you preview your post? "came out in THE fog" or did you mean "came out in A fog"? Honestly, sounds like something my wife would do. I wouldn't call you an a$$ though, you drove 20 minutes and then laughed when she found it, I would have drove 20 minutes then been pissed that she wasted my time.:grumble::grumble::D

There is a street near us with bars and whatnot. They have parking lots behind them, for 3 blocks, all the parking lots look the same.
The wife and I were out with a couple friends. We call it a night and my wife says she thinks the car was stolen. I'm loaded, if she says its stolen its stolen. Wife makes a report and the whole thing. The friends we were with came back to give us a ride home. As we are driving up the ally my wife is like, 'Oh, there's my car!' :D We were one block over. :grumble:

Then we had to wait for the police to come back so we wouldn't be stopped driving a 'stolen' car home.

That was a fun night and the end made it memorable.

Did this at a San Jose Mall once during Xmas scared the crap out of me back tracked to the Sharks store and found out I had gone out the wrong direction Exit door....

Worse yet, I dont carry a wallet and havent for years but rather a Small black Leather fanny pack (no I dont wear it ) I keep a multitude of "valuables" in it (use your imagination) also my ID, a half dozen credit/debit cards and three check books and some usually cash... drove home from Albertsons got out , grabbed my groceries , briefcase and Oh F**K me where the Fanny Pack? :eek Hauled ass 4 miles back to the store breaking speed limits and running lites and stop signs , horrified ran inside and the checker handed it to me after I identified it (I had left it in the shopping cart) and a kind and honest citizen turned it in everything was intact ........ even to this day the incident freaks me out

Glad things worked out for you guys and car was ok.

Your story reminded me of an episode when my best friend I went for a drink after work on a Friday at a local watering hole. So we showed up in separate vehicles in a parking lot behind the bar and paid the meters for the 2 hours or so. Walk inside and one beer after another we were getting into the late night hours. At this point I'm done and either of us were able to drive and the wives were called by us to pick us up. My wife came and ended up parking my car in the neighborhood and she took me home while my buddy was waiting for the wife he continued to tip them back.
While i am at home he calls me pissed off which is unlike him especially after a few beers. He says someone stole his truck. After thinking about it for a bit he gets the bright idea to ask if they have security cameras and which they do. So he talks with the security guard and gets the guard all riled up to go catch some guys taking his truck on camera. They go in the back and security starts viewing footage and comes to the moment where he sees the truck then its gone. So they slow it down and see a guy get in the truck and after looking at the video closer he looks at the screen closer then looks at my friend then back at screen then back at my friend . "Dude you stole your own truck"....lol . sure as shit my buddy got in his truck and moved it on the street then went back to the bar to wait for his wife.
Story always cracks me up when I am reminded about it. Had to share..

You have more patience then I do my friend.

I specifically remember two instances of something similar happening to my dad when I was really young. From my 8 YO perspective, some how, my dad forgot where he parked and somehow he made it home but couldn't remember how and my mom was pissed off. The next day would involve an argument and my mom yelling at us kids that she was taking dad to go find his car / truck. My dad belonged to the Eagles Club, I think this is a Seattle thing, basically it was some fraternal club for guys, they had there own lodges, to hang out at a bar with TV's showing sports, pool tables, card tables etc. Keep in mind this was in the mid 70's. I guess my dad would start there with a bunch of buddies then head out to other bars. He would get hammered then either have one of his buddies, a person he met at the bar or one of his friends in the Kirkland Police department come pick him up and bring him home. Man my mom would get mad, especially if the car was banged up.
