So who and why do you like who you like in this match up of MMA vs Boxer, smaller guy with tons of experience in MMA vs younger bigger guy with limited boxing experience???
Gonna be interesting for sure, I'm leaning to Nate on this one cause the guy has shown heart but not betting any $$$$, should be good and the longer it goes favors Nate for sure but he cuts so easily,???????:confused::confused:

Heart is with Nate. Money would be on knucklehead. If it was a MMA match there wouldn’t be a question. It would be muscle memory for Diaz. Big gloves, no roid testing, past fights points to an easy win for the Paul brother.
I’m not sure if the previous fighters are on the take but something doesn’t add up on these exhibition matches.

Jake is a piece of shit.

Now that’s out of the way. He takes this shot serious as fuck and only picks guys he can beat.

Nate has half assed everything. If he took fighting serious he could have been the goat.

Bet the farm on Jake.

As CLdrinker stated, JP is a prick. I can't stand him. You have to love Diaz purely for his heart and the willingness to stand in there with pretty much anyone. And he's trained with the Gracie Clan. For those reasons alone I'll support Diaz. Even if he doesn't win.

Nate has heart and can take a beating like I’ve never seen. He doesn’t get warmed up until he’s bleeding all over the place.
But, his stand up is ok. He’s takes a beating and the BJJ win him the match. With this being straight up boxing, I don’t know.

I have to go with Nate, has a ton of heart. Also Nick and Nate are from my hometown of Stockton although I moved away 3 years ago. I would like to see JP get knocked out and on his ass but I’m biased.

If any of you think Nate us running this your delusional. Between Jake actually training constantly and probably fixing the fights. Nate has zero chance.
And as mention above Nate likes getting hit. That gives Jake a massive advantage if it goes to the score cards. (It won’t)

Don’t get me wrong I would love for Nate to shut him up. But wish in one hand and shit in the other tell me which fills up first.

Im at a loss here, also wish they would state what the rules are, or is it strictly boxing which I believe puts the MMA fighters at a large disadvantage. If your gonna fight then bring YOUR GAME, not fight at the other guys, ya know what I mean. I would like to see this go both ways, meaning fight both arts or would that be unfair ?? Right now I think the MMA fighter is at a huge disadvantage but what ever, it will be fun to watch

PS Im with the Nate lovers, hes down home and true to his art but not sure on this one!!

Don't won't to thread jack, but I have a question. I don't follow MMA. But, recently saw the video of a female MMA bout, Cameron vs Blackwell. Although some of the action looked somewhat like pro wrestling, the ending appeared real. Was it?

I'm not a fan of Paul, but I watched this last night, Certainly gives a bit of perspective on him and where he came from, I thought it was really good.

X2. He annoys the shit out of me. But he’s just embraced playing the heel / villain for huge monetary gains. End of day he says it in the doc, he’s just an entertainer.

I saw this as rather a lesson for all, 2 different sports or styles dont mix well IMHO. It just wasnt exciting to watch, Nate looked slow and old, didnt know what to do and his punches seemed rather lackadaisical and more like a slap. Would have been different had it been MMA rules Im sure but the guy has heart Ill give him that and he is a dog in a fight, wont give up that bone. Jake is a mediocre boxer and if he ever fights someone his size and who has talent he will lose big time, but he is learning Ill give him that. Plus he's making both combatants loads of $$$$$$$$$$
I would really like to see the next fight between them go MMA rules, whole differnt story IMHO, even with Nate being 38 years old, he has too many tricks up his sleeve
and submission would be the out come by Jake

I’ve heard Mike Tyson say something along the line that even though he’s not a Jake Paul fan he appreciate what he’s doing for boxing and he’s good for the sport.

How is he good for the sport? He fights over the hill MMA fighters that are a fish out of water in a boxing ring. He fought Fury and was out boxed.

There are true boxers out there that will never get a primtime fight and a chance to make it big because some you tube “influencer” wants to pretend to be a boxer.

I may be the only one, but I believe in the purity of sports and hard work that boxers spend years putting in from the amateur ranks on up hoping to become the next Tyson, Ali, Sugar Ray etc….

It bugs me that this guy gets publicity and makes millions when he’s not even fighting professional boxers his own age, weight etc….

Well....Mike is high a lot, lol. He will destroy JP. I find boxing very difficult to watch compared to mma.
Don't forget what Roy Jones Jr. said about iron Mike
First time that dude hit me in the chest, it felt like a horse kicked me in the chest – I was like 'gosh!' “I couldn't believe he could still hit so hard.

My magic box let us see all the preliminary bouts, but would not show us the main event... and the wife really wanted to see it!

So much for free PPV.

He’s said it himself - He views himself as a character. His job is literally publicity. He’s not taking away from any boxers, he is bringing more (new) eyeballs to the sport of boxing that otherwise could not care less.

I don’t see him promoting true boxers in the sport for the new eyeballs he brought in? I view him as a self serving douche 🤷‍♂️

I’d argue true boxing would be pretty much dead without many of the self serving douches in the last decade.

FWIW my 11 year old daughter knew there was a boxing match and he was in it. That would have never happened without his reach, like it or not.

The guy is smart enough to know you’ll pay to maybe see him get beat. The guys brother is in WWE right?

These 2 dudes know what they are doing. I don’t see them taking money, cycles, or opportunities away from any “real boxers”.

There were 5 fights before JP and Diaz none would have been seen by same number of people if JP didn't fight. He isn't taking money out of anyone's hand he is literally feeding many because of his name.

No one wants to see the "true boxers" anyways. Just like womens basketball, not going to get the numbers unless there is some kind of show.....

I agree with you that nobody wants to see “true boxers” and it doesn’t draw money. I think JP makes a mockery of what boxing is supposed to be. He’s cheapens the sport when he start’s calling out Canelo Alvarez.

Because more people are talking about and interested in "boxing" than have been in many many years. That's what Tyson was saying in his interview (mentioned above) as well.
Him promoting and making people interested in boxing is one thing. Him gloating that he’s an elite boxer is entirely different. He’s a sham .

I’d have more respect for him if he was trying to be the next Don King.

You should train and see if he's willing to have a match with you.
