Looking to get my boat shrink wrapped for a cross country move. I live in Livermore but willing to drive a few hours to get it done if needed.

Any suggestions?

Thanks

How big is boat? I can look to see how much material we have and do it here. About an hour and 30 min from Livermore though.

It's DCB 24 extreme. Where are you located?

If you are driving east there is Kryptonite Marine in Carson City. Great guys and drag boat racer.

Can you expand on the process? Easy? Hard? How long to do it? Lessons learned? How much did it cost to do it? Did you you re-wrap it at Loto? So many questions....

We started at Conquest in Havasu. Mike helped us on the installation but it was probably 1.5 hours start to finish.
We bought 1 roll of the 12’ wide material and a handful of the tape. We used a harbor freight/amazon propane torch and reqular BBQ propane tanks.
Definitely a bit of a learning curve on how hot to get the skin before you melt a hole in it. Not a big deal if you put a hole in it as tape the will fix most FU’s
Make note of the fuel tank vents and be a bit careful around them and the fills. We had 90 gallons of AV gas on board so fingers crossed!
We taped the sides the whole length of the boat. We had 1 or 2 repairs on the way to LOTO but nothing some tape would not fix.
At LOTO everything came off pretty easy, peal it off and splashed the boat.

Rinse and repeat for the ride home. Took the rest of the 12’ roll, tape and propane with us and did it at the AirBnB for the ride home.
Made it back to Havasu with no repairs on the way back.
So glad we did the wrap as we got into several rain storms which would have made a huge mess of the interior

Probably want to do a good detail when all done.

The boat is headed back again in August for the shootout

Awesome, thanks for the details. Much like the OP said, there just aren't many shops doing this stuff up here in NorCal.
