Looking for a shifter kart to play around with. I don't need the latest and greatest just one that hasn't been beat to shit. I just want something to kick around the track with.
Shoot me some details and pics...

Got a DD2 that I would part with. 2 speed paddle shifter. Rotax motor, electric start, stand, etc....

I use to race shifter 80's. That was so much fun. I wouldn't mind having another one.

Dude pm me, I have an ex CRG "Stars of Karting" team cart. 2 Built TM 125 motors (fresh updates), probably 2 or 3 sets of magnesium wheel sets, and a set or two of fresh wrapped tires sets (probably 10 years old now). I don't use it now, just want to pass it on to someone that will use it.

We started to get into it because I bought an older CRG kart with a rotax 125. Hardly anyone is running these 2 strokes anymore. Everyone is getting the Briggs and Stratton L0206. Motors are cheap ($650) and super reliable. My buddy has 3 of them now. We can rent the track in phx for $100 an hour so with 3 families it’s cheap.

Man, it would be so fun to get into this. My BIL says he use to race against Paul Tracy when he Karted and I use to watch my nephew race at Adams. I know it's pretty expensive to be competitive, but I wonder how much it would be if you just wanted to go out and have some fun.

Son and I have two Tony Karts, one has the 125 SwedeTech shifter , the other 125Rotax. As much fun as the big boy toys. These are two strokes with 13,000 rpm range. At our Area27 Kart track, beginners all use the Brigs engine Karts that don't require pricey fuel.
Pretty much all racers started on Go-Karts and still practice with them.

Karts are so much fun! And as a beginner you quickly realize that while it seems you're going fast, you're slower than molasses!! Little kid whooped my ass in a non-shifter kart while I was in a badass rocket lol. Awesome and everything happens very quickly

Bummer they shut down Moran Raceway in Beaumont. That was a fun course. I’ve been kicking around getting a Kart again too 🤦‍♂️

Did this with a buddy back in the early 2000’s. After a crash and the cart frame getting bent, we stopped

There used to be a cart race track at fontana speedway in the parking lot. I took my brother there around 2009. We did a 2 day begginer race program. They gave us basic instructions and put us on the track. It was a blast. Single speed carts. I was soooo sore the second day from the g-forces it was crazy. Take a look there to see if they are still operating.

Let me know when you guys rent the track again. I'll throw some dough that way when I get my kart.

When I stopped racing bikes at Willow Springs because the guys I pitted with both died I changed over to shifters. Had a PCR chassis and a TM 125, shitload of fun, won the masters championship (40 years plus) one year at the Willow Springs cart track. Always wanted to get back into it, but we moved to Alabama and all cart racing is on dirt, left turns only.

Just finished morning sessions at Kartplex driving the shifter kart. When left the house in the morning we had hail but was clear and sunny at the track. First time in the season start. Was good to be back. There's a race next week but too busy fixing the formula ford, and now a broken left shaft on the Radical my son pushed it too hard. Never a dull moment, lol

i was into this like 15 years ago. had a both the rotax 125 and a CRG shifter.

if you are new to this you will quickly learn you DONT know how to drive.

its unbelievable the performance of these things. driven to their potential.....you will find out how out of shape you are and how big your balls really are.

miss the days here in LV where paul tracy, jimmy vasser and other indy car drivers would show up at the track for a little fun on Saturday night. you could go out and run with the best and they wouldn't cut you an inch of slack.

Oh yeah I thought I was good with the shifter, right up until some junior rolled past me with a smaller engine and brakes on the rear axle only. I knew at that point to just go out and have fun...lol

Years ago a friend lived in a rented farm house. He used to race at the fairground a lot. They build a dirt oval in the front yard of the house. The most fun you could have. 5 gallons of gas was all it took for a Sunday of fun. Go out just make laps. They stage races and get 8-12 carts lined up. I went one sunday and the next I had a cart Used 5 hp Honda’s or Briggs motors. Had a few parties there. Bbq , booze and carting. We still talk about it

I did the Speedway Dirt Kart racing in 86 and 87. Was a blast. Yamaha 100cc 2 stroke.
Took 3rd In rhe NM state championship my second season in the junior class.
Back then the big dogs ran 2 250cc 4 strokers in the dirt.
I ran the junior class. Showed up for a race and all the other junior karts were racing out of state so they let my dad pull my restriictor and run with the big boys. I smoked those guys bad being so light until I spun about 1/2 way through the race. Great times.
The track I used to race is still there. Was in an episode of Better Cal Saul..

Back in the 90s there was a cart track outside of Canby Oregon. Ran a four stroke, fixed gear class there. Good times but, tires only lasted a race or two. Hope times have changed.

Anyone have a vintage 1960's/1970's/1980's go kart for sale?
Not looking for a shifter kart just a nice single seat or possibly a two seater kart. I am in the high desert (California).

Where is the nearest track to Havasu? This would be a blast for the kids.

Definitely fun started racing karts when I was 7. Eventually ended up racing karts all over the country doing stars of karting. I ended up being good enough that I was sponsored by the chassis we ran. It can definitely get expensive quick if you want to run all the big races. Got to race at Buffalo bills a couple times and then the supernats were in Vegas so we got to race at the rio a few times and then they moved it to Sam Boyd stadium which was cool to race at. Shifter karts are the most fun by far.
