As a kid we went over the 4th. Water was always close to the trees. Awesome to see if so high and there's more melt behind it...

I'm sure the community is enjoying the boost. Not a good feeling in years past driving by and seeing the marina in the dirt

As you should.

When you home?
The Miller still run?
I’m boatless.
Berryessa’s pretty full.

You see where I’m going with this. :D
I miss Berryessa time to go check it out again. Last time I was there it still had a pizza restaurant, ice cream place, no kayak bullshit, right before everyone was told GTFO

That was probably 15 years ago now I’d guess.

When I was a kid, late 70’s/early 80’s, Steele Park had a pretty good restaurant. It was actually best on the lake.
Berryessa marina had food. Rancho was OK. Putah creek had decent food but a great bar though.

Three of the rivers that flow into Shasta have some of the best Trout fishing in the state. I have never been on the lake itself but have fished the Upper Sac, McCloud and the Pit just above the lake. Epic fly fishing water and some of the most beautiful scenery anywhere!

You bastards are making it real hard to move away.
I lived there for 15 years.
Boated the lake every day possible.
It is my favorite lake I’ve ever been on in my life.
Playing, jet boating, running the hydro and flatty, renting pontoon boats, world class bass fishing....
Thanks for reminding me guys.
Shit. What do I do now?

Shasta is an absolutely amazing lake. I grew up going to this lake, in the midst of planning a houseboat trip in 2020.

We stayed at Bridge Bay. The restaurant was actually pretty good. The rooms were a bit rustic and the housekeeping staff just sucked. But was OK for a 4 day deal.

Does anybody have recommendations for better places to stay for next year?

My last trip to Shasta I stayed at the Red Lion in Redding. It wasn't a bad drive to the lake.

Wow. No my feelings weren't hurt. And I've never even been to Seattle. Everything was about as expected except I shouldn't have to grab the bottle of simple green out of my boat and clean the bathroom floor. I'm from Livermore Ca and I boat on the Sac Delta so I'm not that picky about the establishments I frequent. Unless I find a better deal we will probably go there again next year. Having a boat in a dock trumps dirty bathrooms.

No worries, but when in small town you can't really expect 5 stars accomodations.
Or you can and be disappointed.

If you have a motorhome -- Holiday Harbor Rv park is tuff to beat. Especially if the water is high!

I don’t know about it either:cool:

Oh and I can’t get pictures even if such a thing existed because my phone is not water proof. So we may never know;)

Plus it may be a long walk. Or not. :p

did you know there is a boat in only natural water slide at this lake ? If you do, shut the fuck up and don't tell anyone!

I think I may have to just work on my timing and be there when you are with a couple of dozen eggs and a couple of pounds of sausage and an extra propane tank.

We were there the following weekend so there is also the possibility that housekeeping didn't get a chance to recover from the DLB take over.

You can get lost cruising Shasta lake up the forks, McCloud river, and the shasta Caverns were cool to walk threw. By boat only
We almost got swamped in the middle of the lake with are 6 month old boy aboard.
While taking a video of the the lake around us, I heard a boat getting closer.
One would think, oh they can see us, But No they were pulling tubers and the bow was up making them not seeing us.
Well I turned the camera towards them and saw they were headed straight for us at about 200 ft away.
So I jumped in the seat of our AquaCraft flatty and started her up and brought the bow up toward there Wake.
Ass holes, other than that we had a great time up the mcCloud river and way up the Sac river.
There is another lake south in sierra/yuba county foothills what we call little Shasta lake, real name is Bullards Bar Lake, and No there is No bar there.
most of it is boat Camping only.

Bullards bar is absolutely beautiful camping under the talls trees just adds another killer element to that area

We use to pull a para-sail behind our flatty from a long flat point between dark day launch and Garden point Campground.
Then When the Sheriff makes his final pass around 7 pm we would have a drag race in the cove Across Dark day Lunch, with our Flat bottom v-drives.
Camping on the lake is like no other camp, it feels like the lake is ours, with no one else around.
There is no lake like Bullards bar Lake
