Search feature on RDP?

Is it just me or is the native search feature on RDP lacking? I just did a search of Formula 1 and it did not even show the Formula 1 thread from earlier today... In comparing this search to other forum search engines it does not make sense. I even tried the advance one here to search for Formula 1 later than Feb 1, 2021 and it came back with no results....but there is a thread about formula 1 on the forums today but it comes back with no results... very odd.

Even if you do search by F1...the first page of results does not even show F1 thread....it is a very rudimentary search engine that does not to pull a very recent keyword match thread and put it to the top...

RD...look at the dates on those... it brings back results and a couple recent but not all the recent stuff....with search engines they have many components to their algorithms and one of their is how recent... I even tried going by a date in the advanced and it brought back nothin...was just surprised it did not even bring back the thread today on the 1st page...

I I’m agree the search is funky and doesn’t bring up the newest stuff first. I used to use it a bunch but somewhere along the way it got screwy on one of the updates.

Like RR I actually have better luck on Google for RDP searches. Actually googled Aboundigous soup yesterday for Mark’s recipe.

Well I lerned something new again today. Always struggled with the search function but as stated if you select by date in place of relevance under advance search it works well.

Didn't know that. I thought it was odd too that it didn't sort by date.

Bob asked me to remove his username to make it harder to search for posts that he had made. He was in some sort of legal battle way back when and they started bringing up threads on rdp into the deal..

Weirdly I have done that for a few members with legal battles where they introduce rdp threads to help their case.

I mean, it is what it is. Not the end of the world. I just have always found searching things a bit frustrating on here. Seems the "key word" feature doesn't work as well as I've seen elsewhere. I don't know. I'm not an IT guy so
