We spend copious hours on phones desk tops internet and at home stream a ton Being offered a deal right now for the home and shop
I havent used mine in the forest/wooded areas yet but was wondering how it would be.Get it. I use it while out in the middle of the forest and able to work remotely while camping. People give me shit about disconnecting from electronics but I camp for a week at a time and not use any vacation or planned time off. Even works in the truck while traveling.
Here's one free month of Starlink service! Starlink high-speed internet is great for streaming, video calls, and gaming in even the most remote locations on Earth. https://www.starlink.com/residential?referral=RC-2468488-19791-82&app_source=share
They are certainly effected by obstructions. Need a fairly clear view to the north. Appx 100* window. The more obstruction, the more interruptions. Up to about 8-10% you'll have good browsing but poor gaming, poor 2 way video(zoom). But still better than most other remote/rural options.I havent used mine in the forest/wooded areas yet but was wondering how it would be.
Good to hear it still worked.
You need 2 seperate units- If you take the unit from home when you travel then you loose WiFi to security cameras and what ever other devices use WiFi at home. If you arent worried about any of this then its not a big deal and you can use one device. My question is if you want a portable one so you have the option of using at home burn if you want to take it somewhere, how does that work or is there really not a feasible option?
Exact reason my dad doesn’t use starlink as his only internet service. You need 2 seperate units- If you take the unit from home when you travel then you loose WiFi to security cameras and what ever other devices use WiFi at home. I have mine mounted on roof just next to eaves, reach up pull it down and toss in RV. I have my wifi cameras on my neighbor's wifi, it works great when I leave. Still not sure what I get for having cameras since nobody will use them if I have a problem. You need 2 seperate units- If you take the unit from home when you travel then you loose WiFi to security cameras and what ever other devices use WiFi at home. We monitor all of our clients and the ones on Starlink also have the same hiccups at that exact time. I assume its the firmware update or something of that sort.Once in a while we get a 2 second hickup usually around 2:38 in the morning.
Damfino why but other than that, flawless.
Maybe Elon testing out that waterless toilet that saps your turds with Lazers.
Fail-safe needs to be perfected to not burn your nutsac off or singe your pubes.
Wife thinks it’s when the Powerwall flips the load to the grid if we’re running a lot of electrical draw like the AC.
We are now ATT free and that’s a BFD to me.
First time in a long time ATT was pleasant to deal with when I called to discontinue our services.
Only to try and get us to reconsider.
The instructions say 3200 feet house. The RV is 100 feet away and the back bedroom is 100 feet away with a good signal. For those who have one do you know the range of the router?
It's all us bootlegging & fabricating with what we have on hand at this point.Just changed over the river house from Optimum
So far so good. The starling pole mount is a bit donkey but can be modified it be ok. Mounted to the old DTV pole.
Had 10 devices connected and worked great.

The Starlink pole mount just pinches the mount to the pole with 2 set screws. Definitely would not live long term with the wind. I drilled the pole so the bottom set screw would thread into the pole. It's all us bootlegging & fabricating with what we have on hand at this point.
A good cottage business now would be someone figuring out a few different mounts for a few different mounting situations.
So far most people mount it to something that was already there from what I read on the internet.
Thanks Ross. We are getting ready to start a big project in Lajitas TX (very sketchy cell service) and builders risk insurance wants cameras. We planned on having Starlink there for our internet needs but the camera deal just came up this morning. The instructions say 3200 feet house. The RV is 100 feet away and the back bedroom is 100 feet away with a good signal.
