Last I heard it was in Billy B's storage. I'm not sure if they took it back to the shop or not? I had heard it was going to a yacht broker in Florida but not sure if it ever did.

I think Lee should take it to Performance boat center in LOTO and leave it there for next season to sell.

Who owns it? What would the price be? Seems like a lot of tied up money

I thought it was built for some billionaire guy from Dubai or some shit like that. Was it built, paid for, and never delivered? He sure as Hell didnt build it as a boat to have in stock or sit on for any extended period of time. There has to be well over a million invested in that thing.

I'm curious about the 27 twin LS one as well that Nordic/Billy B, and GT if I remember correctly were involved with.

Rumor is the owner wants Schiada to build a 60' boat for him. They finished that one, and he said " cool, I want a bigger one" or so the unconfirmed story goes.

Does it run like it sounds?

I have seen it out several times this Summer. Sounds good cruising by looks great. He always had what appears to be his Family with him and not on the gas.

They finished it, but never said how it performed.

the owner is a close friend. Boat runs fine, but wasnt happy with the way it handled at certain speeds. they have decided to make some changes to the bottom after experimenting with various props, drive heights, plates etc. believe nordic, who did the hull restoration, is doing the work on it.

Seems like there are numerous big $$$ builds that come out of GT that just don't handle right...you would think people would learn

That hallett and now the schiada.

There have been plenty of ski race Halletts that have come out of that shop and been competitive.

I don?t think any one of those two boats have any prior data on setups. They were both pretty unique builds if I remember correctly.

I have no dog in the fight. I?ve never used GT and probably never will but I?m not convinced that it?s a GT specific thing. I think that Hallett bounced around to a few shops and never did get 100% resolved.

I would agree it's an industry thing......lots of shops and manufacturers sell stuff and it doesn't work and the client eats it

The Hallet is beautiful but couldn't handle the power and I think the motor was changed for a 525 and the boat was sold for cheap......someone lost a shit ton of $$$ paying to have a boat built and it didn't work was my point.

Hopefully they get the 27 figured out

I would never spend 2-3-4 hundred thousand on a hope and dream but maybe that's just me.

i think the issue here is there isnt really any other boats to compare setups to. this really is a one off deal and to expect it to be perfect the first time at bat is unrealistic.
