I have a few questions on Schiada's.

Anyone have old sales brochures they could post?

Does anyone know approximate production numbers of each model? I know they are custom boats but would be interesting to know approximately how many are out there.

What are the visual differences between a 20SS, 21RC and a 22 daycruiser since they look very similar.

If you've owned multiple models or even the same model but different power I'd be interested in hearing what your likes and dislikes were.

Not a question but I'd like to see Dave or someone else do a longer video or series featuring Schiada's. A history video would be cool but I'm probably in the minority of people who would watch a 15-30 minute video on that.

I’m fairly sure the orange and white tt boat was owned by X Hoser at one time. Or one identical to that. He’ll chime in here soon about wishing he never sold it😝

Wish I had never Sold It!! It was owned by Pat Benjamin before me. I think he was the original owner. I believe his dad pulled him in the ski races with it and then he pulled his 14 Year old son to a national championship with it if I remember correctly.

But if you do….😉
Almost positive that isn't the same boat you are thinking of. Pretty sure that boat in the ad was one of Kompaniez' A4 boats in Arrowhead and pretty sure another RDP'er has it now. Different boat than Benjamin's and X-Hoser's. Regardless, plenty of us here that can't get enough of keeping track of all the Schiada's through the years.

I have the powerboat magazine that had my boat in it somewhere. I'll see if I can find it.

I posed the total production number in the Schiada Facebook group andI believe the number from Lee through his sister was 1500 ish over the lifetime of the company.

Yes a history or interview with Lee or Stan would be awesome. Make it happen Dave !!!

You are probably correct. I remember the Kompaniez”s when I lived in Lake Arrowhead but can’t say I actually remember the colors of their boats? I also believe I mixed up the first names on my boat. I bought it from Chris, and Pat was his dad. Chris was a super nice guy. This was it after I capped it and added full interior.

They made a 16' too if memory serves me correctly. I don't know if it has the same following as the other models from Schiada, but it would still be cool to have one.

@AZLineman any info on the boat he has??

I'm pretty sure it's a 16 I posted it on here a while back with more info. It has some mercury tower of power outboard that was shot after I heard. It definitely needs to be redone it's been sitting out in the sun for decades but it's all there and it ran when it was parked I'm gonna message my friend and ask him what he currently wants for it. The boat is in golden Shores on the northside of Topock.

So the price is $1500. That is what will buy it. Apparently the motor is worth more than that alone. It can be seen anytime after tomorrow and for the following week. It is not on Cibola. PM me if interested.

The test boat in the Powerboat write up was built as a "spec" boat for that test and the LA Boat Show in 86 or 87. It was bought by a guy named Larry Kramer from Palo Alto who owned "Harry's Hofbrau" restaurants. Larry took the boat to Tahoe for many years and now someone else has it. My dad bought his first 22' from Larry. We drove to Palo Alto, ate dinner at his restaurant and stayed at his house. Super nice guy. That was the first of three 22's that dad has owned as well as a 19' Howard (old Schiada mold) and I have a 21' Love them all.

Kramer then to Kompaniez and now my brother @AK723 has it in Fresno. He needs to get a print of that magazine

I could almost afford a new one with those prices.

For perspective a life long family friend laid up a custom built 24 spectra V drive in 1980 with a big turbo motor. He looked at Schiada and couldn't get the turbo motor to fit under the hatch with the step down design so he went with a Spectra. Hull, Custom Rigging, and motor out the door was 40k.
